Worst commentator of all-time

No one has mentioned Bob Sheridan yet?

I'll never forget when my father & I were watching his broadcast of Ali-Foreman, & after Ali landed a thudding right, Sheridan told the audience "IDK if you saw that." My father then angrily screamed out, "NO, WE'RE BLIND!!!"

 

Cosell got terrible, especially from the late 70s on.

The fight doctor sucked.

 

I liked him.

 

irritating, if not among the worst - Watt, Kellerman, Bunce

in fact most of the UK Commentary.

 

He was often drunk.

 

I can't stand Barry Jones his voice really winds me up! Bunce is knowledgeable but gets so shrill when he is excited.

 

I never liked George Foreman as a HBO commentator.

 

YES!!! Cringeworthy is the word we're looking for. Disliked this dude from the very start. If this fool could just be average instead of dipping into the negative for every single fight.

 

If you like being driven to tears watch Snipes vs Mustafa and in between sobbing listen for him to say Archie Moores advice is useless.
What a daft fool I was unreasonably annoyed by that.

 

The Colonel hasn’t been mentioned because he was great, & brought an electric energy to each broadcast.

Cheerleader Pacheco takes the cake. Cosell a close second. His absurdly affected speech is ceaselessly infuriating.

 

I agree with you. His call for Tyson vs Bruno 1 (especially the 1st round) was great.

 

He never STFU during a broadcast.

 

Pacheco always drove me nuts with some of his observations, but I also always laughed at his gaffes. I was watching the John Tate-Trevor Berbick fight recently and just sat there shaking my head as Pacheco continually referred to Berbick as Trevor BOBICK or Trevor HOWARD. Oh, man, you just couldn't write some of his stuff.
