Okay...here is what you're not getting, in my opinion. If an established fighter doesn't fight another top fighter even though the fans want it, that is clearly a missed opportunity, but it's not always a duck. On the other hand, when a fighter promises the fans that he will fight a certain fighter and receives preferential treatment based on that promise and he doesn't fullfill it.... Yes, preferential treatment. Haye did nothing to deserve his title shot against Valuev. He only got it because of the publicity he has stirred up with his promise to fight the Klitschkos.
It can't get any worse than ducking the biggest fight this generation could possibly see whilst he was supposed to be on the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He's there to make the kid with cancer feel better but instead, makes his announcement for retirement. WTF, you're there for Armando, you know the kid sitting next to you battling Hodgkins disease?

Haye, I like him, but if he does not fight a Klit then he is looking very bad. The guy was pulling press conference ambushes and being a real jerk. Then when Wlad says lets get it on - Haye goes AWOL. But I have faith - I think he will fight a Klit in his next 2 fights. I think he has one or two more fight for the germans.
Haye went up to HW saying he was going to hammer the klitchkos and be the saviour of the division , he then proceded to back out of fights with either brother after calling them out countless times wearing t-shirts etc.... haye bottled it worse!
First and foremost you base your "argument" on him retiring so he doesn't have to face Pacman...really? One I haven't seen him make an announcement in reference to retiring. Second if he did in fact retire, I assume his reasoning wouldn't be so he doesn't have to face Pacman. Third, he is one of the most decorated champions in the sport today, he has beaten fighters such as Hatton, ODLH, Castillo, Corrales, Judah, Mosley, etc. He has more than established himself as an ATG, you don't do that by ducking fights...while you may decline him that credit most of those who draw their livlihood by analyzing boxing would disagree. :gsg
The better question should be: bigger duck, Povetkin or Haye? I dont even believe that Floyd is ducking Pac, its all about money. In the HW division this is different story, because when you are hope in the division (Povetkin, Haye and now Adamek) you know that when you lose to Klitschko then you will lose your position and be classified as another hyped fighter. When you take a fight against Klitschko you risk your health too. Pac and PBF are promoting the fight the longer the negotiations go. They dont risk too much and winner has so big reward that I think this fight will happen.
I don't know if it's a fair comparison. Mayweather just plays mind games, doesn't necessarily mean he's ducking. He made a lot of people think he was scared of Shane Mosley then he came out and whipped him in the ring. That's how Floyd rolls. Besides, he doesn't go calling out people and then make excuses like Haye does.
