They're ridiculing you for using these wins, against no better than decent opposition, as your reasoning for Aoki being a pound for pound fighter and the best lightweight on the planet. You wouldn't take half as much **** as you do for being an Aoki fan if you weren't ******ed enough to try to claim stuff like this, because a blind spastic could see he's not the best in the world and he's never done anything in his career to suggest he is. He's a good fighter with excellent ground skills, but that's it. He was humiliated against Melendez and hasn't fought any of the other top guys about right now.

Those wins do not make his top 10, maybe you should look at the way he took care of Alvarez, an accomlished fighter in his own right before you say that he has not fought anyone of significance, and Alvarez is just to start. The other side is people like you who use the Melendez fight to claim that Aoki would not even be a UFC contender. Aoki clearly did not look comfortable in his environment, and was tossed in with maybe the best LW around. You want to claim Aoki was at his best in that fight, go ahead,
I've seen your lightweight rankings where you put Aoki at no. 1. Maybe I was presumptuous about your p4p list but I imagined that if have him ranked as no. 1 at 155lbs you would have him in your pound for pound list. Regarding the Melendez fight; I think that considering the level of complete domination by Gilbert, even if Aoki wasn't at his best it still didn't really matter. The fight wasn't close in the slightest. Also, I never said he wouldn't be at all competetive in the UFC and would probably have him in my top 10 at 155lbs, I would say at lightweight my rankings would be: Melendez Edgar Maynard Henderson These 4 are clearly above the rest in my opinion. After that I have: Guida Guillard Pettis Cerrone Miller Aoki Diaz All of these guys are top fighters and could make up the remainder of the top 10. I just don't see any reason why Aoki should automatically be above any of these fighters.

Well the reason I have him as high as I do is his resume and also the degree to witch he can dominate the ring at his best, his making his opponents helpless is exhibited by few fighters in MMA. Just look at this list of current and former champs and name a fighter at 155 that has a better resume than this, in addition to the way he finished his opponents in a lot of these fights: JZ Calvan - Hero's Champ Hirota - Sengoku Champ Hansen - Dream Champ Alvarez - Bellator Champ after they fought Vitor Rebeiro - Cage Rage Champ Caol Uno - former Shooto Champ Kawajiri - former Shooto Champ
