Anyone who genuinely thinks Cornelius Bundrage is the answer here, or even close to being the answer, is a complete joke. That or Bundrage fooled around with their mother or sister back in the day.
Bundrage embarrassing Carlos Molina, long-time top 5 JMW, in Mexico, is better than what many titlists in recent years accomplish in a single night in their whole career. Period.
Um...no. Molina embarrassed himself. That wasn't the same guy that schooled Paredes & Cintron and gave Chavez Jr. & Lara fits (regardless of whether or not you consider them robberies) Hell, the writing had been on the wall in his previous fight when he arguably got a gift decision over freaking Ishe Smith. K9 deserves very little credit for that W, along with both against the corpse of Spinks.
So now you're going to pretend like you, I, and several of the other long time and respectable posters didn't talk up Molina in every discussion to some capacity regarding JMW supremacy for a couple year span? Sure the writing was on the wall for his decline/demise. But how can you genuinely act like Bundrage dominating him, in addition to beating several other top 20 guys in his career, is a lesser feat than what many of these one-off titlists do who win a belt from vacancy, lose it in first defense, then never amount to anything again? C'mon. I get saying that he has no technique and would lose to several guys. That's fine. But he is so far from being the literal worst champion ever. Ridiculously far from it. I'm not going to dig them up but I know for a fact you sang Molina's praises for years (rightfully so) when everyone else seemed to not appreciate him in many threads. Don't revise history now!
I'm not revising anything. He was a top h2h junior middleweight for some years. That had ceased to be the case by September 2013 when he labored to a probably undeserved victory over Ishe Smith, let alone eleven months later (!!!) when he stepped back into the ring to look by far the worst he ever has against Bundrage. Hell, on that night he probably would've lost to little Carlos Molina (the one that fought Khan) :yep
I'll show you the worst guy who ever fought for the title https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYTIgFTRn7g It got so bad Gomez knocked him through the ropes, tried to catch him and than apologized.
Akinwande, bent, seldon, braddock and berbick all worse than Ruiz I'd say. Ruiz changed as a fighter after he took a dive vs tua
Current WBA super-featherweight champion (he may be interim) Emmanuel Lopez is the worst by miles. Perhaps he will get better though. On merit he is not even ranked in the independentworldboxingrankings top 100.
