I think its the injury that resto has caused to collin with his loaded gloves + illegal drinks that caused the lost of vision, broken dream & lost will to continue on life.

Those pics look really gruesome. As for me, the worst injury after a fight are the ones that prove to be fatal.

Leonard after Hearns. The swelling in those pics went down after a couple weeks. Ray was messed up for a while.

A several day stay at the hospital.......Meldrick Taylor's face showed all the signs of wear, but more than his face, doctors said that Taylor's internal injuries were numerous, and like no other they had ever seen without the fighter being in a coma!

......ahhhhh, but the fight should have been left to continue!:patsch

This is a quote from Wikpedia......

"It is popularly believed that Meldrick Taylor was never the same physically or professionally after the bout. Famed sportswriter William Nack said he had never seen a boxer give so much as Taylor did in the fight. Nack pointed out Taylor's "prime" was literally beaten out of him and it was thus gone forever. Dr. Flip Homansky, who examined Taylor following the fight and immediately sent him to the hospital, summarized his injuries by saying "Meldrick suffered a facial fracture, he was urinating pure blood, his face was grotesquely swollen... this was a kid who was truly beaten up to the face, the body, and the brain". "

I would say the wikipedia quote is semi-true.

Taylor was never quite the same, but still performed well and had the 2nd best win of his career a year after losing to Chavez.

I remember reading that Taylor lost 2 pints of blood against JCC.
