But would you say the Hamed in the ring against Barrera was the SAME Hamed that was in the ring with Kevin Kelly? I'm not taking anything away form MAB but you could see Hamed was looking for the 1-punch knockout he was lauded for his whole career, but he was awkward as hell, he was even sparring and hurting cruiserweights! I can't really comment on the opponents he faced as I havn't researched that well but there were a number of fighters who had never been stopped that he did stop enroute to his WBO title. Ands you got to admit when he was on his game he was awesome to watch! BTW, on the original topic, I agree with the Mayweather - Gatti fight, that was brutal. God knows how he took that beating and stayed on his feet.
Lacy has a good chin on him to be fair. Calzaghe destroyed him in that fight though, mentally more than anything. It would have been better for Lacy if he'd been KO'd before round 6 to be honest. Joe gave him a prolonged beating and embarrassed him for the full 12.
Chavez vs Taylor 1 Yes, Taylor was winning but was taking a severe beating at the same time, and he pretty much got his prime beaten out of him that night.
The punches that Bowe took. He went from coming in to fight Golota in the best shape of his life to retirement. I sometimes think those fights ruined both fighters.
the worst ive seen in recent years vic darchinyan vs victor burgos - burgos was like done by the mid rounds but for some reason he was allowed out round after round to take a beating and ahalf...i remember screaming at the tv in the later rounds for the ref to stop the ****ing fight..he did unfortunately it was too late..the damage was done and burgos ended up carried out on a stretcher in a coma nate campbell vs ricky quiles - this was the fight that made teddy atlas lose his cool on national tv...this goes the distance too...campbell just slaughtered the guy..at least quiles was ok at the end of the fight but hasn't fought since
