Quite off topic but... What was that fight where the Argentinian world champ was getting bashed in Argentina, so the officials called time in the fight to basically help him recover and at one point helped him up from a KD instead of putting a count on him? The challenger was badly robbed in that fight, he got granted a rematch in the U.S and was stopped fair and square. But he should have been defending the title not challenging for it in the rematch. Was it Coggi?
Ted, actually Napoles won a tech decision. The conspirators, (referee, doctor, commisssion, Sulaiman, etc.) claimed that Muniz had butted Napoles in the 3rd and 5th rounds (although there was no real fault, just their infighting. There was no warning and Muniz was also cut) and that it should go to the scorecards. And of course, Napoles wins the decision. Total robbery! Scartissue
IMO it was Taylor- JCC. I know, every month there will be a new thread, ca. 40 % have the same opinion like me, 60 % said Taylor was hurt, but IMO in those few seconds it wouldn´t have happen something ( Steele perhaps didn´t have a watch, but he know the fight was over in a few seconds), it´s just my opinion.
You're correct, scartissue; meant to write decision. How they managed to render such a decision is a bad joke. Had it of gone on, as tough as Napoles was, Muniz would have picked up the title he deserved via stoppage.
He almost had him in the 10th round but the 11th was an absolute crime. How many deliberate low blows did you see Napoles throw and land while that mockery of a referee politely looked the other way? Muniz was going to stop him in that 12th until the henchmen started playing around. Scartissue
i got it on tape and moyer is getting his ass beat pretty methodically. not that horrible a stoppage, only preventing him from getting beat down worse.
