Eggs Bennedict vs Ryan Garcia this weekend have me thinking: what's the worst WBC title fight you can think of in terms of actual quality on paper, where the fighters simply weren't at that level? Obviously, this weekend's fight is a pretty solid contender in recent memory.

It’s been so much worse than next weekend’s fight.

When I saw this, it reminded me of 1980s Atlanta Braves catcher Bruce Benedict, who was occasionally referred to by broadcasters as Eggs, haha.

I was at a Braves game last month and it was alumni night. They had about 30, maybe 40, former Braves on hand and he was one of them.

Luis Estaba v Rafael Lovera for the vacant WBC lt. flyweight title - horrible on paper but probably not to the boxing public who were deceived into believing Lovera was something he wasn't. In fact, he was making his pro debut and after getting his arse handed to him in 4 rounds, he never fought again. Do you think the WBC had an inkling what they were foisting on the public???
