Would anyone actually want to see Mayweather vs Ortiz again?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Undisputed520, Jan 31, 2012.

  1. I would actually like to see it.

Even though the result would be as predictable as the first fight, there are a couple of interesting stories happening there.

Can Ortiz keep control of himself and his head this time?
Can Ortiz keep his mind in the game and not get KO'd while trying to give hugs & kisses?
Can Mayweather get another dominant KO win if Ortiz fights clean and keeps his wits about him?

I mainly feel this way because I really don't care who he fights any more. They are all 2nd tier opponents unless we're talking about Pacquiao, Martinez, or another legit middleweight.

No. Ortiz was schooled for 4 straight rounds, knocked out in the 4th, and exposed as the mentally-weak 1-dimensional fighter that he is. It would do nothing for Floyd's resume and time is not on his side to waste on guys like Ortiz.

24/7 would give us more things for us to say about Ortiz. I'm a tree bro. He was still not convinced supposedly that he lost so let's do it again. You guys want Manny/Marquez 4 when JMM hasn't officially won any of the first 3. Martinez is fighting in March. Manny has an opponent. Cinnamon is supposedly not ready still after 40 something professional wins. Guerrero is a 140 lbs fighter. He's gotta fight somebody.

People will say "Why did Floyd KO poor little Ortiz again?? Floyd is a bully, he should have let Ortiz win a few rounds because his daddy left him".

Ortiz seemed to do pretty good at times. Not sure he would have lasted all 12 though. May was nailing him w/ lead rights

    Only if it wasn't PPV.

    So in other words, no.

I don't think Ortiz would win, but I'd like to see it again, I think he could make an interesting fight with Floyd.
