Ward would never admit to head butting nor would his home-town ref deduct points so sadly this is a moot point :(

First and foremost there is no comparison between Ward and Ortiz, Ward committed no fouls, and certainly no intentional fouls. Secondly sure Kessler could have tried but Ward protects himself and would have (based on the rest of the fight) counter and possibly dropped Kesslar. Kesslar was over matched and beaten the entire fight.

Well.. wish he had done so...

but since the fight basically took place in Ward's livingroom with his uncle refereeing it.... It would really not have mattered.

Ward landed something like 5 vicious headbutts. Kessler should have hit Ward in the nuts in retaliation the moment it became clear that the referee would not enforce the rules.

Well, he would of been but. . .Ward is such a crafty fighter and such a shrewd fighter that he would never have dropped his hands like Ortiz did.

Ward has deep ring smarts and appears to have all of Bhops savvy and cunning at such an early age. Ward doesn't make noob mistakes like ortiz did vs Maidana and Floyd.
