Moving is accomplishing a mission that is all good footwork is not Ali or any other one like him big steps out of punching range require big steps in and is a weakness that was exploited by Kenny and Joe. Louis had the best footwork at HW ever
If Foreman isn't a puncher than nobody is His punches would physically move people, not just snap their head ...
I don't understand what you are looking for. He finished his career with a KO percentage of 89-90. You want him to KO the likes of Oliver McCall with one punch before you consider him a great puncher?
What do consider what he did to Frazier twice and Norton? Even if you take into account Norton’s history against punchers he lifted Frazier off his feet with one punch.
For me young Muhammad Ali (from 60s) had the greatest and most outstanding footwork ever at HW (even if it wasn't straight from the textbook due to his unique style). Joe Louis had a great and economical footwork but he wasn't the best in everything. There were also other great heavyweight Champions and boxers with good footwork or other qualities like body movement.
Well Joe Frazier, Norton, Lyle, Moorer are the top names but he must have had brute strength, to have Ali covering up like that. Imo.
Yes. During the fight at ringside Joe told the commentator who I think was David Frost that George should shorten his punches and that he didn’t need those huge wide swinging punches. Ali was able to anticipate his punches.
Inexpirenced at the time didn't help him.,he also had the folly of youth, believing his power was enough. Can totally understand why he behaved that way back then, when he'd destroyed Frazier and Norton.
A lot of the blame needs to go to Dick Sadler. Had George just punching dents into heavy bags. Word was at the time he fell head over heels with George’s power. The Gil Clancy tries to completely change his style. No wonder George was ****ed in the head going into the Young fight.
Outstanding, flawless, pur, incredible, pristine, faultless, real, genuine, veritable and perfect definition of the young george foreman!
