the wlad of right now would be a handful for anyone in any era. yes, if you can get to him with a big punch, he can be taken out but that is very hard to do nowadays. A man that is 6-7 with his kind of foot movement, athletic ability, and jab will not be easy to hit for anybody. The best way to do it is the way sam peter fought. all out attack w/wild haymakers. never back up.

Now im not saying he would beat ali in one round but i think he could give every atg a tough fight and win some of em. and no he is not an ATG yet but he has the potential to become one but has got a lot of work to do. the first big step is feb 23 :D

While Tyson is smaller than Peter and also Brewer he is much faster, technically sound and explosive and therefore more capable of getting in close against an opponent. Just because Tyson is smaller doesn't make him an inferior fighter to Brewer just like Valuev being bigger than Wlad doesn't make him a superior fighter.

The fact is a much cruder, slower fighter like Peter was able to get in close enough to drop Wlad on 3 occaisions. Tyson's speed would mean he would have more opportunities to unload on Wlad than Peter did. Tyson also has a very good chin, he took a beating before being stopped by Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis so wouldn't be stopped early and would last several rounds giving him the time to break Wlad down. While Tyson is a front runner and tires late, unfortunatley so is Wlad so while usually against Mike the longer you last the better, it wouldn't be the case with Wlad who would be faltering himself as the fight goes into the later rounds.

Wlad is talent enought to even lacks a little bit mental strength..heart, without skills means brain damage. Nowadays, wlad hardly take any punches in. If you see wlad vs. schultz, how can anyone say old Foreman even has little chance to win novadays mature wladimir, if even " kid " wlad beat easily guy who get very close fight with old George

Wladimir is much more talented fighter than Vitaly is, or never was.

Wlad is more physically talented than his brother, but mentally hes alot weaker. Vitali knows how to take a hard punch and handle pressure, Wlad cant. Mental strength is more important Physical strength, I will take Vitali over Wlad any day of the week.

Schultz had more heart and than most top dudes in 90th and he was without chances against superiorly skilled fighter. Wlad hardly get any hit! Wlad punch is much harder and faster than Vitalys and if Vitaly was able to almost KO or atleast get Lewis bad trouble(first rounds), imagine what wlad can do..

Yeah, but the punches Lewis hit Vitali with would of put Wlad on the canvas for good. Wlads chin would not let him fight the way Vitali was able to fight Lewis, Wlad is Physically better and Vitali is mentally better, I will take the guy whos mentally stronger anyday.

See, this logic doesn't hold water.

That may be true. (about Wlad hitting harder)

But if Lewis teed off on Wlad like he did on Vitlay, Wlad wouldn't have been standing to hit Lewis back like Vitaly did.

In the 90's, (especially if Wlad had faced better contenders earlier in his career), Wlad would have been a fraction behind Lewis, Holy, Tyson (early not late 90's), and Bowe. IMO, he could have been a 2 or 3 time champ. (Win the belt, lose the belt etc).

He would have been slightly better than the next level down, like Moorer etc.

Vitlay probably around the same level. He's not quite as good, but more durable.

No shame in that, it means he's a world class fighter IMO. And in all honesty, he's a good chance to win against any fighter.

Response to Wlad v Lewis Chins.

Lewis was only KO'd once. At age 35 or so. He was up on his feet against McCall at 6. So that was a TKO (that's for all the people that are anal about Wlad being TKO'd, not KO'd).

If the ref had been as lenient as the ref in Wlad v Sanders, then Lewis would have been allowed to carry on. Maybe he would have been KD 3 or 4 times that fight, I don't know. Fact is, he was far from being sparkoed. (definitely was in trouble IMO, and a 50/50 stoppage in my eyes).

One fact to ponder. Look at the Lewis v Vitaly fight. Lewis was 37 years old too. Could Wald have taken the same punishment Lewis did that night, and stayed on his feet? I don't think so.

I don't! Personally i don't even see wlad as a mentally weaker fighter. His never give up any of his fight. Lamon Brewster give up his fight..

By the way, how you think Lewis would build or end his career without Stewart?

I agree in that wlad could never have taken the punishment vitali received from lennox, especialy that unbelievable uppercut in the 6th, however, u also have to consider wlad is much more elusive than vitali. today, wlad is very difficult to connect on w/a big punch. his height, style, jab and athletic ability make it so. vitali is much more robotic and staionary although he leans back to avoid punches. if u can break through wlad's force field, he is very human but its gonna take a superhuman effort like sam peter put forth. But how many guys can take that kind of pounding and still keep bombing?

I see your rocking the American Psycho avatar. i friggin love that movie:

waiter: Would u like to hear tonight's specials?"
bateman: Not if u want to keep your spleen!

Firstly, Moorer hardly won Schultz wald beat him almost dead. They are not same level..

Lewis cant take this days wlads punch without going down and stay there...altought, lewis chin might be better than wlads.

Same question to you as a punisher...how lewis career would go with out stewart? Your opinion..

I just think Wlad wouldnt do as well in the 90s, but I honestly see his brother being one of the titlist. Wlads chin would fail him from time to time against 90s era, he would still be a contander and maybe a champion for a brief time as well.

American Psycho is a classic, very funny sick humor in that movie. Bale was the **** in that movie, the 2nd one sucked though.

Without Steward he would be more of an exciting fighter, but would lose more. He didnt know how to clinch when he was hurt until Steward got ahold of him, he also refused to pace himself during fights. He would be a notch better than a Morrison without Manny in the 90s IMO.
