    Here's a crazy idea:

Why not let them actually fight before we crown a champion?

Exactly the same as it was with AJ and Wilder... One has/had 3 belts and wanted to fight for the 4th, the other has 1 belt and seems to like pretending they're up for it whilst managing to make sure it doesn't happen.

In a sense he was done after Wlad... He's achieved nothing of remotely similar magnitude since returning, made a beeline for the belt holding fraud (who was such a poor fighter he even lost to Fury in dreadful condition in III and arguably in I too) and beat up Povetkins leftovers.

He's delayed the Usyk fight as much as he could and it wouldn't even be surprising if he avoided it altogether... Heck, it's entirely possible he only agreed it at all to try and sell more PPV's for the Ngannou fight.

He even ducked AJ, despite it all being about the money (and AJ being a significant payday) and despite the constant insistence in fan circles that AJ is overrated (despite having the deepest resume in the division by far).

Fury was arguably done the whole time he was back and only doing it at all to milk the sport for a few more bags.

He looked decent in that fight, yes...

The question is whether that's because he was **** hot or whether it's because his opponent was a ridiculously overhyped bum whose best win was an equally ridiculously overhyped bum.

I've never rated Wilder because of his refusal to fight any actual contenders - ducking Whyte, making no move to try and unify against Parker, thanked his lucky stars for the reprieve against Povetkin (then ran a mile from him claiming he was a drugs cheat before attempting to cherry pick a far worse drugs cheat in rusty, fat Fury), ran a mile from AJ, etc.

Wilder was more or less the same both in the 2nd fight and in the 3rd. It was Fury that was no longer the same. In the third match he wasnt able to finish Wilder as in the 2 nd bout. Maybe he thought to be Lennox Lewis who could handle the opponents as he liked.

Or the alternative take... The fact he was able to win in that godawful shape at all against Wilder (who looked no worse than the previous two) suggests Wilder was never all that good in the first place - which his lack of resume does little to assuage.

My general view is that Fury in the second was the best he's been since Klitschko, but that it's very hard to judge how good that actually is when the opponent is bang average.

Daniel Dubois is the champ. Just joking.

But you can’t just automatically make someone the undisputed champ without them winning it. He most likely will beat fury, but you just never know in boxing, we’ve seen miracles happen, heck we just saw one two days ago

Is this Fury's ring walk against Usyk?
