2 times on my scorecards. First fight was Pac imo, the judge that gave it to Marquez by 5 points was ****ing mental!
I've not got my card for the first. I have my ones for II and II though; II = 116-112 Marquez III = 117-111 Marquez
He has, the 3rd was the clearest victory of the lot. There's a case for any of them being in first spot followed by either of the others. Neither Floyd nor Pacquiao have stellar records in the past couple of years. Floyd - old Mosley, **** Ortiz Pac - Clottey, shot Cheato, shot Mosley, lost to Marquez Marquez - faded Diaz, Katsidis, beat Pacquiao There's not a lot to split them, I suppose Pacquiao defeated two fighters that are basically middleweights that can cut weight..... and both are better than Ortiz. The one thing that stops Marquez being top is the bad loss to Floyd, but I suppose that's why they are P4P rankings rather than H2H ones.
Maybe not in the record books but IMO he did, I prefer to look at things from my eyes then I do the judges, I have no faith in them what so ever and Its been that way for a long time.
When I'm doing my list I also go by my results, unless they are close and could go either way I stick with the official decision.
I have my top 8 on lockdown(as in the fighters dwelling within it, not where they are placed exactly), I always swap around the final two placings any time I think of them, there's probably in excess of ten fighters that could feasibly get in 9th and 10th for me. I always say I don't care about these rankings(and I don't really) because a lot of the time they're just a popularity contest, but I always end up nit-picking and arguing with myself over the most frivolous things. Khan ain't even in question though, not for the time being at least.
More to the point Pacquiao knew he'd lost as well, just ambled back to his corner. If you watch their reactions when the bell goes in all three fights, there's a marked difference between each of them. The only fight in which Pac has an argument is the first one. He was well beaten in both the others.
From memory..... 1. Marquez 113-112 2. Marquez 115-112 3. Marquez 116-112 I felt the third was the most one-sided of the three, to be honest Marquez had an argument for pretty much every round. It was the only time I've ever seen Pacquiao look utterly lost for ideas.... Nacho was right that the more orthodox Manny becomes, the easier he is for Marquez to handle. You could have the 2nd a bit closer, but I still felt Marquez won most of the rounds and had a clear tactical advantage. I might watch all three over the holidays (in addition to my other activities :hey) and post a RbR.
Cheers dude, very similar to my scores for 2 and 3. I'd be willing to bet that you're not going to do the bit in bold, you'll have your hands full. When Nacho was talking about the fight being easier for Marquez third time round due to the reason you mentioned I really thought he was clutching at straws. How wrong I was.
I thought Marquez would extend him, I said at the time that people were getting carried away with Pacquiao beating a few non-opponents in recent times. Didn't expect him to do that well though.
Debateable he deffinetly won the last fight, but the other two you could argue either way. Pacquiao has fought and won at a higher level that Marquez and just because he lost a close fight he shouldn't move down the rankings ignoring his other achievements
