    It's obvious why.

They care about their Filipino fighter. Puerto Ricans root almost exclusively for their fighters.

The difference is that PR has a richer boxing history, and like with EVERY country, when you have countrymen that are good at it, suddenly the country becomes a fan of the sport.

If PR or US were just now having a superstar the level of Manny, the exact same **** would be happening. Everyone jumping the bandwagon of that particular fighter like you say Filipinos do. 100% guaranteed. It gets boring seeing people get on their high horse and constantly go on about the same **** about how "they know nothing" :tired. The same would be happening in PR if Manny was from PR and PR never had the deep boxing history it had. Same for Mexico, etc ,etc.

    No I'm not Filipino.

I don't think you understand it as a whole. Then again why would you?

I was also at the weigh-in. When you look around at the Filipinos you saw young people and old people. You see them bringing their little kids just to see Manny. There are some that flew in from the Philippines just to be a part of their people rooting for their hero.

Manny is much, much, more than just a boxer to the Filipino people. **** man, when he fights there is no crime in the country and they have cease fires in the fights against the rebels. For some of them Manny is really all they have. So, people like your punk ass shouldn't expect them to be full of boxing knowledge, or making bull**** videos on youtube.

Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself for your thread here.

Not pathetic when boxing is suffering business wise.

Heck as a boxing fan it would be sad to see boxing join Hockey as an "Underground" sport.

No he shouldn't. Being a fan of the man is fine, and Freddy isn't criticizing them, he's just making an observation. They do not know about the sport, and I believe it to be true also. Scatterbrain, Enzo, and those guys, have absolutely no excuse for being as ignorant as they are, I don't care what Manny means to his country.

Hence the little blue dude scratching his head at the end of my post.

And I think most of them know who Nonito is. Haven't you heard?
    He's the next Manny Pacquiao!:rofl

Boxing suffering business wise has and always will be a myth. Look at the attention Mayweather vs Marquez, Hatton vs Pacquiao, De La Hoya vs Mayweather all got. It was insane. Could we do a better job? Absolutely, but Boxing is going nowhere. I have no time for *******s because they are ignorant, I don't care what they watch in their spare time. Just don't try and have a discussion about Boxing with me when you know nothing about it. Simple instructions.

They dont have to know alot about boxing to support pac.

In football world cup, do these people know alot about football? They just want their country to win and celebrate. What good is a party when your team lost?

Same goes for all those pac fans, they are there to support, feel they are part of the team. Who cares about the boxing history, all that matters to them is pac winning.

Do you expect "aling dionisia" to be an expert? Im sure shes a *******, a famous one too.

Ya, every fighter has their people who get all crazy and I know exactly what you mean.

Why call out an entire group people just some observations at a weigh-in?

I bet against Pacquiao because he challenges himself each time out, that's the most impressive thing about the guy.

Dude, if the fans that went to the weigh-in don't know about Boxing, and the fans who post on the best Boxing forum on the web (ESB) don't know about Boxing, who the hell in the Philippines does know about the sport?

I have no problem with them not knowing anything about boxing besides Pacquiao. What you say is very true, I personally became a fan of the sport because of Tito Trinidad and I know there are still many Puertoricans who don't know **** about boxing. However I don't really see anyone getting on a high horse over anything. I think of myself as a fan and never an expert, but that doesn't mean it's not surprising that the person that knew the most about boxing in the crowd didn't know who Nonito Donaire was. I think the problem comes when some of those exclusively pac fans claim he's the best fighter ever or whatever when they don't even know who they are comparing them with.
