It's not like you were right Mr. Burple. Penn DID close the distance and he DID box him up in the first. His cardio lost him the fight. Props to you for picking the right guy but you didn't predict how it went, at all.
no, getting beat up by Diaz lost him the fight. Did you miss all those punches that were landed by Diaz repeatedly? Did his cardio also cause a swollen eye and busted up face? he was getting caught and grinded out, he looked like many other Diaz opponents.
You don't know **** about boxing if you really believe this. He beat Diaz up in the round, landing the jab and check hook at will and nailing him with the lead right inside of that ugly left hook multiple times. Second round? He comes out and he's throwing punches like an emphysema patient after a triathlon and he can't even shoot a takedown. Did Diaz gas him? Yes, he did, but not by beating him up because he landed a grand total of 4 body shots in the first round and none of them were the heat seekers he'd go on to land later. He gassed him because Penn has no cardio, none, and pushing him into the fence and not even bothering to pummel was enough to leave him a winded wreck in the second. Diaz has outstanding cardio, a Grade A Chin, and he's a real ****ing fighter. That being said, his defensive boxing absolutely sucks, his footwork is ****, and so is his wrestling and he'll be exposed the next time he's fighting a guy that can wrestle and crack. He was exposed for a sloppy **** in the first round of this one but Penn's infamous lack of cardio was the elephant in the room AGAIN.atsch
everyone lands on Diaz, he is not a defensive wizard, you see how often he's bloody after a fight, thats nothing new. Its also nothing new that Penn has poor cardio, but to say cardio was the sole reason for Penn loosing is ignorant. Penn got beat up, he also got some damage in, because he has skills, but at the end of the day Diaz was too much for him, he had too much of an uphill battle to begin with. The workrate, combination of punches, pressure, size, etc.
All I need to refute you is one question that you can't honestly answer without looking stupid. If it was all about what Diaz brought to the table instead of what Penn didn't bring, then why did the ass whooping only begin when Penn gassed out? Penn came into the second throwing punches with NOTHING on them. From the time he came out in that round he was slower and had little to no pop and Diaz only commenced to whooping that ass after he "shot" that pathetic takedown attempt and got kneed for his troubles. The guy that explosively doubled Fitch to the mat twice couldn't even get inside on Diaz who would be taken down by a Junior High wrestler. And he hadn't been beat up to that point so don't even try and claim so as a reason for his being gassed. There wasn't one other than that he didn't train any harder for this than he did his other WW fights and Condit would have drug his ass through the grinder, as well. At WW all you need to do to beat Penn is push him against the fence and hold him there for a few minutes. Rinse and repeat for a round or two and he's done.
LOL at MMA gettin TORE up by basically an UNSKILLED BOXER with a chin. Margartio would probably go in there and WRECK SHOP, knockin out all those gay dudes tryin to oil up and wrestle cuz they scared as **** to get hit.
Any unskilled boxer with a chin, in that fight, would have certainly been submitted by BJ Penn when he scored his takedown. Nick Diaz is a good Brazillian Ju Jitsu black belt, ******, and if he weren't he would have lost that fight. He is a lot more than an unskilled boxer with a chin.
U must have missed the couture-toney fight. Penn would have taken margarito down and choke him out in the first round. Diaz is a black belt in jiujitsu, that was the reason penn had to pretty much strike with him cuz he is just as good in bjj as penn. Margarito has no ground game. He gets choked the **** out like your boy james toney.:hi:
