Graham Houston, Danny Flexen, Doug Fischer, Hugh Mcillvaney, George Kimball. And sometimes Thomas Hauser, but he's a bit too pro-NYC fighters for me at times.
Tracey Callis is quite good, has some superbly researched articles and Dougie Cavnaugh is also spot on (although I know I have spelt his name wrong), Harry Ottey's charleyburley site is fulll of superb content also. Leonard was bang in his prime mate. No shame in losing to Duran though. Hauser I find can be too pretentious as most top writers can be though, they get a little too wordy. Although his book on Ali was very simple but superb. Nigel Collins of Ring! is good also Claude Abrams was good and Tris Dixon is also good.
Budd Schulberg is peerless. His non-boxing books are great too - "What makes Sammy run" is a classic - the best book I have ever read and the earlier chapters there are shades of Mike Jacob in Glick's character - so probably not completely non-boxing literature....
I like most of the guest columnist's in boxing news - Atlas, Haye, Iceman etc as well as the editor's first page, that's good. Bunce is good. McGuigan's column is good. But, I could list a lot more that I don't like.
W.C Heinz had some superb technical observations perhaps the best of his time. I love the old newspaper writers though, because film wasn't widely available/used they had to convey the style of the fighters and how they meshed, and that's how we can really get a good idea of how fighters fought from reading old newspapers. You read a review article now and it is just a description of the action, no technical or stylistic observations. I hate it, might as well get a 5 year old to write some of it, writing what you see is not a skill, it is writing why you see it? Why did the action pick up in a certain round? Why was Fighter B able to turn the tide of the fight? etc...
I love Hausers collected writings books that come out towards the end of every year, have every one, his most recent wasn't one of his best though

Casey's a bit too much of a yellow journalist, like the majority of well-known boxing writers. Those guys don't hold a candle to even certain members of ESB's Classic section, such as the aforementioned Springs (untouchable in his prose), Steve Kompton (untouchable in the thoroughness of his research), Clay Moyle, Matt Donnellon, Adam Pollack, Douglas Cavanaugh, etc.
