Hey guys, for a writing course, I'm doing a final paper on boxing training. My thesis is that the training boxers had to endure back in the day was a lot more rough than it is today. And then I go on to explain how that correlates with society moving towards more efficient means.

But I was wonder if anyone could help me out with some sources (articles/pictures) I would REAAAAALLY appreciate it! I remember reading so many things about the tough training of boxers in Jefferies days, and before that. I just can't recall where I read it though.

i think one big difference is that many early boxers didnt do weight lifting..but they did do body weight..and they wrestled a good deal...

another thing though is that in some ways its not as different as we think...we may have fancy words like polymetrics and interveral trianing..but many of those things where done back then..just because you didnt have a phd in sports science doing your trianing..
medicine ball work was mostly polymetrics...smart runners (like jack dempsey) often switched up their running speed.
