Hating Pakistanis may not be the past-time of the majority here in England, but no one can deny that a significant MINORITY of whites do hate Pakistani Brits. I mean, that's no secret. It's been that way since the 1960s and 70s. Let's not pretend everything is all rosy now that it's 2009. And in the past 5 - 10 years hating muslims of any race/nationality/ethnicity has become widespread and more acceptable. Racism is on the rise in the UK, as is evident from political election results show increasing success for some racist political parties. Now, whether that validates Amir Khan's statements is another matter. Let's not pretend that he should ignore the abuse and is talking crazy when he links his race to his perceived lack of recognition. He might be wrong, but you cant deny the background behind his perceptions.
Yeah, that's how I'll be watching, so I'll keep an eye out for that. I really hope you're wrong though.
I don't suppose anyone can provide a link of this (Khan) part of the hatton mayweather weight in? Please.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgNRKOPdx50[/ame] Thats the link, it was in the Hatton v Pacquiao fight, you cant see De-La Hoya's reaction though. Its at 4.25 of the video when Khan comes on.
Actually this forum probably does have less racists per 100 people than in the real world. People using forums are generally of above average intellect etc... Amongst the general working class people in this country though, 4/10 probably isn't that far off. Britiain is a very racist country, it is shocking the number of people you come across who once they are comfortable around you will spout out random racist comments. Not all of them really hate Asians (muslim Pakistani types), but they are happy to come out with the stuff and are unlikely to ever see Khan in the same light as a Ricky Hatton or David Haye.
I have some info that Khan might be coming in the ring today in Pakistani flag colours green and white.
Idiot, the boots are green, I saw that in that Sky Sports video where they show him packing his stuff in the room.
Yeah but where did you get that information from, anyway I think he should. I see loads of boxers doing it here, ethnic ones of course, they don't get **** said to them.
At was at that weigh in (admittedly nursing a hangover) and I don't remember Khan getting booed or even being introduced TBH.
