I was genuinely taken aback when I first noticed the injury. It looked like he had a big grey mark or dent in the side of his head at first. It must be a broken eye socket and I never hold it against a fighter for putting their eyesight first. No fighter should be expected to go blind in one eye to please the fans or prove how macho they are. It's your freaking sight for goodness sake and none of the fans are going to be there to help out when they're having to spend the rest of their lives half blind. I hated it when people ragged on Brook and Dubois for putting their sight and health first.

Not an accident. Canelo throw it with intent.

The injury was a freak injury though. Canelo threw that shot several times before and it didnt have the same effect.

It's different though, torn biceps can repair or even if it doesn't fully heal, you won't be disabled. You dont want to be messing around with eye sockets, a few more accurate punches to that eye and BJS could have been blinded.

Callum Smith put up zero resistance and turned up for the money on short notice because his greedy trainer/manager Joe Gallagher talked him into it so he could pay his mortgage off.

Lol, well those were all losing efforts, but yes I agree BJS probably should have dug deep for at least a round or two in a close fight. At least that was the sentiment up until the early 2000s. Overall to the benefit of the fighters I think it's better for them to live to fight another day, but man I would have loved to have seen BJS dig in deep like the throw back fighters.

Because you are not giving credit where it is deserved. Everything about your comment showed un-objective bias. It's the definition of a hater.

"Freak" would indicate something outrageously unexpected. Getting knocked out or your eye smashed by that shot -- which he was looking for all night -- is not at all freakish.

Good point, Smith came in on short notice and still powered through the pain! What a proper fighting heart he has.

Again, more un-objective nonsense from someone who doesn't want to give Canelo credit. Like I said mate, it so obvious that you let your dislike for Cenelo get in the way of being objective. You're a sad man.

It is what it is, BJS quit after all his talk and criticism of other fighters. When the chips were down he wasn't the man he thought he was and there is no shame in that.

Lol and the most ironic thing about all of that is that Billy Joe Saunders himself ragged on Dubois, how funny is that.

“Get carried out of the ring brother” lol Billy you didn’t get carried out mate?

It was a quit job by definition, but an understandable one.
