I think you guys are underestimating Paul's ability to actually box.

He is very capable of fighting simlarly to the way he fought Margarito. And Pavlik doesn't have the footspeed to dictate **** against Williams. Williams will turn this fight into whatever type he chooses. And he has the stamina to turn it into a 12-Round track meet if he damn well pleases.

Why didn't he? He could have fought on April 17th, but chose a much safer opponent. Will he gloat over Pavlik's loss, and claim, "I'd have done the same thing, but I've have knocked him out," like he did after the Hopkins fight?

Your boy is long on talk, but comes up damn short when it's time to make the fight.

You can drag up all the old bull**** from last winter until you wear your damn computer out, but that won't change the fact that your boy chose Cintron for less money.

Isn't Pavlik the same fighter who after several postponements eventually cancel his fight with Paul Williams...only to schedule a fight two weeks later with a 6th place finisher of a f***ing reality show "The Contender" and it had the NERVE to be a PPV fight? While Williams fought the TOP-DAWG at 154lbs in Martinez?

:lol::lol::lol::lol: After the way Pav's team handled the botched fights, of course you would want to forget the winter.

And he's making more money from Cintron than he made after signing twice for Pavlik.:good

and as far as williams goes...the shoe is on the other foot now so if kelly wants him he's gonna have to earn it this time. can't be dictating terms w/o the straps especially with williams already holding a win over martinez. but he can do it.

i would actually find it more likely now, wouldnt you think cuz? i mean, all the talk on here was that kelly was calling out williams b/c after the martinez fight, kelly's camp "saw" something and felt more confident about it. well, can't the same be said now for williams? he beat, albiet narrowly, the guy who soundly beat kelly.

the whole fighter a beats fighter b beats fighter c arguments arent really valid but williams was ringside and saw what happened. but again, it would be on williams' terms if it were to happen

Only problem with that, is that Williams' team doesn't need to see Kelly lose in order to have the confidence to fight him. Paul has always believed in his ability to beat Pav. On the flipside, Kelly waited until after the Williams-Martinez fight, and beating up another tomato can before his team felt like they could really call out Willams. The only reasons the fight never came off had to do with Kelly, his team, and Bob Arum.

So don't expect Williams to jump up and start talking a bunch of **** in post-fight interviews like Pav did. Pav clearly needs him more than he needs Pav, and he already gave him several oportunities.

i agree with you. pav needs him. especially now. which is why it may be easier to make the fight...if only williams is interested and he may not be. he's got cintron and now a rematch w/ sergio for the mw title. he doesnt really need kelly at all to be honest.

The bad part for Pav is that he is now forced to go up in weight due to his own body and the fact that the MW division is a waist land!!!!!!

in all honesty, if williams comes back up for a rematch w/ sergio at 160 instead of having it at 154 and kelly can somehow beat one of the two (just play along cuz :D) they may be able to fight eachother long enough for some of these young bucks to step up. there are some youngins right on the cusp of being ready for some stepped up exposure.

but as of now you are right, the division is ****. although w/ it being as thin as it is, it will be easier for kelly to pick up a strap and try and become somewhat relevant that way instead of trying to go through williams or martinez to do it :think just a thought.
