If that scrub could put leather on him Saturday, the worse of the bunch , including old man Pac would bounce him around. Bud is good but WW too packed atm. Give him Bradley as a test first and let's see
No. But i do remember how in Broner own delusional mind and in the even more diluted minds of his and floyd fans he was. Anyone watching broner simply saw a physically talented fighter with decent skills beating up smaller guys. Other than the shoulder roll defense he fought nothing like floyd. I for one thought he could be a decent fighter at WW but hes been worse than i thought and i didnt think all that highly of him to begin with. Crawford has shown far more skill and talent in the ring and is the real deal. I think hes still filling out and hes barely making 140lbs anymore. I think at 147 we will see a monster! He`ll be bigger and stronger with the same speed and skills and he is going to be a nightmare to deal with. I think he can beat anyone at WW. Im shocked at by how little people think of Crawford on this board and even his own fans undersell him. I think hes going to be a star at WW. Whos with me?
He would fit right in with these guys. Taller than Porter, 1-1/2 shorter than Spence has power to hurt and stop guys that weigh 160. Skills wise he is better IMO. Fighting naturally bigger guys might cause some issues, but I think his skills will get him through most of the time. Can't say if he takes over or not. The question is, would you be surprised if he did take over?
Nonsense. He weighhed in on Saturday night at 157, even though he made 140 the day before. Most welterweights weighing in at 147 come in between 157 and 160. Crawford, like Canelo, is very heavy on fight night , compared to the rest of his division. He'd actually be a big welterwt.
I think he handles Porter quite comfortably. Crawford is a very smart fighter who would beat Thurman. I think Kell Brook would be a tough fight for him. Errol Spence would be be tough as well but that one is a little harder to tell until this Saturday is out of the way. The first fight I would like to see him in at 147 though is Danny Garcia. He will be avoided by the guys at 147.
i must have a better memory, the hype was ridiculous for him even after he got dealt with by little ponce de leon. of course there were many who saw who he really was, that doesnt erase the many who talked him up like he was the future of boxing. i was one of the ones that said he would have trouble technically, as well as physically, against bigger fighters in a more talented division. crawford is much better technically, but i dont think he has the same durability, so he may also look different vs bigger, more experienced and talented fighters. welterweight is a different division to all the others, its a glamour division, it offers life changing pay days and fame. you have the small guys who can, moving up, and the big guys who can, boiling down. bud is going to face the biggest guys hes ever faced, in the most talent heavy division hes ever been in... there aint no sure things. i would love to see crawford do well, thats why i want him to be the one to retire pac, ive been a fan of his game since i first saw him, but i just dont think he can dominate the same way against so many different effective styles. just a body punch from one of the top 4 welters is a world of difference over 12 rds, to anything hes seen. either way, he adds a lot more excitement to some already mouthwatering possible match ups.
I think if Danny Garcia can move up and do well against a big strong hard hitting ww like Thurman i have no doubt Crawford will do just fine. Youll see. very good post btw.
Doubt if Crawford can make it big at 147, but they are already talking about him fighting at 154 and 160...............don't think he can do it...........
diaz was heavier than Crawford and Peterson used to weight in at 165 Crawford is not oversized at 140 but stilll id rather see him in big ww fights
I think he is good enough to dominate the division but there is enough doubt in several of the matchups that it is exciting. At this point Bud seems far too good for 140. Felix Diaz was a legit contender and Crawford handed him what in my mind was his first loss, and in dominating fashion. I saw the Compubox numbers and I believe in terms of punch percentage landed Crawford's worst round was better than Diaz's best. Crazy stuff. As for 147, I think he is just too good for guys like Garcia and Porter and would decision them comfortably. I reckon he beats Thurman too. Thurman seems like he relies much more on his skill and boxing IQ rather than power in his last few fights and frankly in terms of raw boxing skill I think Crawford comfortably has him beat. Would be a good fight but unanimous decision. Meaning no slight on Thurman either, I just think that Lomachenko is the only guy in all of boxing operating in the same stratosphere of skill as Bud at the moment. Brook and Spence would be the big question mark fights for me, mainly because they are both huge welterweights and we will have to see how Crawford stands up to that sort of size and power. Pacquiao I've decided I won't even think about. I'd bet anything that Arum keeps him fighting nobodies until he is clearly past it then by the time Crawford gets him the fight won't even be competitive.
