kovalev won the fight though and the champion wasnt beaten. ie. ward shouldnt have the belts, and the rematch goes in with ward as challenger once again.

Great fight and deservedly win by Andre Ward. He came through adversity kept his composure and came back to win a real close fight. Ultimately though Kovalev hurt him early he could not walk through Ward who made the adjustments to overcome him.

 

How did you score it a draw anyway? With that 10-8 in the second it makes it pretty much impossible to get a draw unless you had Ward also getting a 10-8 somewhere.

Those are pretty much never given out and even then it would still be extra hard to have it as a draw. I'm very curious about how you scored it now. I didn't bother scoring fight.

 

I had the fight scored for Kov. Or rather, I thought Kov won. Like I said I didn't bother scoring it round for round since after a certain point I thought Kov was comfortably ahead. Right when I thought that thought Ward happened to have a lot more success than he did initially but with that knockdown it just wasn't mathematically possible for him in a 12 round fight by that point unless he managed to stop him. I tell people that I had the fight as a draw but because of the knockdown a win for Kov, but that's just me saying things. It's my way of saying it wasn't quite a landslide but that Kov won.
