The US is full of problems, and many of us damm well know it. I have traveled extensively and seen what the world has to offer. I'm also not one to say that the US is the best country on earth, all places have their respective pearl. In fact, depending on how you define quality of life, I would argue that several countries have a higher quality of life than we do here in the US. Our political system is laughable, our level of education amongst the masses is a joke, and these two facets of life feed into eachother to create the bull**** that is taking place during this presidency. What I don't like is the ignoracne I see on this board amonst Brits and others abroad who think that Americans are uneducated as a whole. I read constantly, I try to absorb as much as I can about a range of topics. I have many friends who do the same. There is a good amount of our population that is aware of life outside of our proverbial island. And, I admit, that there is a striking amount of ignorance here also. But what about some posters here? Bashing the US is the popular thing to do and its an opportune time to do so. Our war, our current presidency, and our economy is failing. Does that create an environment that excuses bashing our population as a whole? If so, you share the very ignorance that you would have us believe you despise.
I hear what you say mate and I hope you don't think I'm USA-bashing,I just say what I feel on what I see and as you've said you agree on those points I made + I have family there so you know. :good
I disagree. To describe someone as 'not a saint' would imply that they got up to a little mischief here and there,eg sleeping with women other than their wife, the odd punch up, minor criminality etc etc. I don't enjoy what happened to McClellan, but there is definately something in the theory of 'karma'.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Americans#cite_note-1 Largest ancestory group in America, making up 17 percent of the population. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_American Only an estimated 8.7 percent. Most of us don't descend from England, sorry to burst your bubble.
That last part of my post wasn't directed towards you, sorry. It was adressed towards the board as a whole.
And isn't Hatton the ring champ still at 140. Wouldn't take away from the fact that Hatton was beaten by Floyd (an American Ring champ); and "going-by-this-theory" Calzaghe will get beaten by Hopkins (another American Ring champ). Meaning 2 out of your 3 ring champs were beaten by 2 of America's 3 Ring champs.
