How does this pan out? In his second career he had a better defence and much superior inside game, so young George would have to move forward more than avg to land on him. Who will it be?

Interesting topic, but I think you could have asked it better.
"Old George Foreman" is not the same one who fought Holyfield (who was 42 years old), and the one who fought Shannon Briggs (almost 49 years old). Although I think "Old George Foreman" set better traps than his younger counterpart, I believe the younger George Foreman would have won.

Young Foreman via viscous KO. Not sure anyone beats Foreman not named Ali.

Old Foreman. Better chin, shot selection and accuracy.

Old George would know his younger self better than the other way around. He’d know the weakness and things that would screw him up. He’d pave himself and use his improved defense waiting for young George to tire then unload on him

Is this a KO where the punch gets stuck in the opponent?

Old foreman survives a vicious first 6 rounds and breaks his mentally weaker, younger self in the second half of the fight.

I believe foreman quit in Zaire.
He would shoot his load against old foreman and then wilt. He does not have the defense to deal with old georges straight shots up the middle if he tires.
He does not have the craftyness to survive when tired.

    60/40 for old george.

91 Foreman beats the 70s version of himself.

 I probably think more of Foreman than most others. I'd narrowly favor a peak Liston.

Lewis is 50-50. Go back and forth here. An excellent argument could be made for both.
Louis is 40-60 but I don't think his chin holds up here tbh.
Holmes is also 40-60 but I find him overrated tbh. He was hurt in his prime by Weaver, Snipes, Spoon (a little past prime), and especially Shavers. All got past his so called impenetrable jab to have their moments. Neither were the fighters, nor finishers that Foreman were.

You can if your name is Joe Louis, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes ("Foreman didn't want to see Larry Holmes" a quote by Holmes) and last but not least, Leon Spinks.

I think young Foreman ranks higher h2h, but in a fight between the two i reckon old Foreman takes it.
He was pretty much better in every way except for power maybe and speed.

I think the fact that (at the time of typing) the man who was comfortably outboxed in the 90s by Tommy Morrison and Axel Schulz is leading, tell its own story that the young version was definitely beatable if pitted against an intelligent craftsman with a good jab and a solid chin (hence why he didn’t fight many of them).
