your controversial boxing opinions?

Oscar De La Hoya won one of the last 4 rounds against Trinidad, some say he ran the last 4.

 

Muhammad Ali was in large part, dull to watch. No doubt the FOTC and the Thrilla in Manila were classics. Foreman, Spinks 1, and Shavers were good fights (the latter 2 coming when Ali was pretty much shot), and others like Williams and Quarry 2 were good to watch for Ali's skills and phenomenal talent. The rest of them? Most of them were boring as a whole and only good in spots to see Ali do brilliant things in there, in between all the boredom.

mike tyson is the greatest talent ever in boxing, unfortunately he ruined it

 

joe calzaghe is not very talented


andre dirrell was absolutely robbed against froch and the fight wasnt even close

 

clottey is going to upset pac (and as teeto said in the classic forum, i hate the fact that i have to follow this up with me saying i am not a pac basher and speak with true thoughts and not bias, i did pick pac against cotto and hatton so take it easy) i just think clottey can take it more and has the size and under rated skill to pull the upset.

 

I believe (without evidence of course) that there may be something fishy about some of De La Hoya's losses

Mosley II- he became a partner in GBP
Hopkins - he became a partner too
Mayweather - he now has a close working relationship with GBP
Pacquaio - GBP has a 20% stake in him

I'm not saying he threw all the fights. Im just saying its funny how when he loses its to people he has a business interest in. I may be wrong. The Hopkins fight is the fight I have the strongest suspicion about

 

Holyfield was on steroids when he fought Tyson and was able to win for this reason.

 

There's been speculation that Holyfield's health problems were related to PED use. After the first Moorer fight, his symptoms were said to be consistent with HGH use, but it wasn't tested for still is difficult to test for.

 

Cassius Clay's defeat of Sonny Liston was one of the greatest and most exciting fights of all time.

 

There is no proof but it is just my unsubstantiated opinion. Interesting point about HGH and the thing is when a fighter does get caught the first question you ask is how many times did he get away with it.

 

Prime and focused Tyson would have KO'd a prime Ali.

 

I don't see what was so exciting and great about the fight. It was a big historlc upset, but shouldn't one of the most exciting fights ever have consistent action? Ali outboxed and outspeeded Liston, then got blinded and survived the 5th. Ali recovered and then beat up Liston some more in the 6th. Ali took his share of body blows, but it wasn't an especially competitive or action-packed fight.

 

My controversial boxing opinion is the K brothers are very boring to watch.

 

This era in boxing is lacking in talent to a ridiculous degree compared to other past eras (besides the obvious few greats performing now)
