Liston v Clay when i was at junior school, all the teachers yapping excitedly about it the next morning at school assembly after they'd stayed up late to listen to it live on the radio, no TV then folks.

Watching Arguello-Escalera I on Wide World of Sports, and then two weeks later watching Zarate-Davila on another edition. I remember being interested in the sport prior to that point, and I vaguely remember watching replays of old Ali fights prior to that point, but those are the first two fights that I can clearly remember watching from start to finish.

I remember Ali coming to my house like 17 years ago. He gave me and my brother a life sized clown stuffed animal type of thing.

I was only 4 years old at the time, and the only thing I remember was him standing over me and my brother, and him looking like a giant.

    Was he visiting your community?

My first memory was seeing gramps and uncle watch USA Tuesday Night Fights. I grew up across the street from a boxing gym but didn't even realize it existed until years after I moved away from that area.

he's a friend of my dads. When he lived in Hyde Park in Chicago, we had the keys to each others houses.

I bet that fight grabbed your attention!
My first boxing memory is just hearing the names of the top heavyweights in the mid-70's - Ali, Norton, Foreman, Frazier, Shavers, Young. I didn't watch boxing at that time, I was only 5 or 6 years old. Then, I saw Rocky at the theater in late 1976. I was so excited, I started punching the walls after I got home.
