Michael Brodie vs Neil Swain. Action packed fight, both going toe to toe, Swain was the busier throwing loads of combinations, but Brodie landing the bigger punches and as always throwing vicious hooks to the body. Brutal right hand from Brodie to end it.
James Page-Jose Luis Lopez Derrick Jefferson - Maurice Harris Julio Cesar Chavez - Juan Laporte Paul Samuels - Cello Renda I Tex Cobb - Earnie Shavers Keith Mullings - Terry Norris Seguno Mercado - Bernard Hopkins I Bhops - Echols II
Joe Choynski vs. Jack Johnson, that's a half-joke. Giovanni Segura vs. Ivan Calderon, for what it represents and how epic it went down, I feel it was immediately extremely underrated. So I believe it fits.
Jorge Diaz vs Lante Addy on the undercard of the Cotto-Jennings fight at the Garden. Only a 6 round fight but very entertaining. Diaz won by UD and clearly had the heavier punches but Addy never backed down. Solid action fight for prospect Diaz
Yeah, wouldnt be a great fight again. Rojas probably takes it at this stage but you can never put it past Penalosa, he's one tough son of a *****.
George Foreman vs Ron Lyle. Absolute war with 2 power houses (wearing 8oz gloves). Every single punch thrown had knockout written on it, back & forth all way with both fighters having to overcome adversity, sign of a true classic. Probably my favourite heavyweight fight of all time because it's overlooked with round 4 being one of the best rounds you'll ever see.
I'm not convinced. I thought he beat Morel, and so did most others who watched it from what I remember. I don't think he's completely shot. I have his fights with Tokuyama and Choo on DVD and I scored all three for him. He's been terribly unlucky with decisions, you could argue the only time he legitimately lost was against Juan Manuel Lopez. I thought the De Leon fight was a draw, too.
Raul Marquez-Johnson 1 & 2 Norris-Waters Norris-Brown 2(??? not sure this is obscure is the 1st was a big upset but still lol) Hagler-Briscoe Hagler-Hart Gil Turner-Saxton ...I'll add more to this thread on another post
I agree with you, he's not shot, but is past his best IMO. Definitely beat Morel. But at this stage, he's 38 years of age and pretty much semi-retired. It'll be close, possibly he'll be unlucky with decisions again, but I do think if they fight anytime soon Rojas takes it. I used to think Rojas was the type of guy who would come up short against the very best in the division, but he'd beat all the rest. Now i'd give him a good chance against almost anybody at super fly.
He was dominating the first and second round against Darchinyan until he got caught, and I remember him giving Arce all he could handle too. He's definitely come on as a fighter, and he's a worthy WBC title holder in my opinion.
How could I forget Cermeno/Valdez? The were on the Pavlik/Espino undercard, and they stole the freaking show.
