Why can't you read? Roy Jones "they want me to fight Nunn but they won't pay me enough" i.e I would rather fight a nobody.

 

Tarver by far. This tarnished Jones legacy because he wasnt that far off his prime and he got punked by Tarver in the 1st and destroyed in the second fight.

Now step back, Tarver is at most a B level fighter. This is the dilemma with Jones, unbeatable at some point but it makes you question if hes ever had a stylistic problem opponent. Whos not intimidated by the least.

Jones was interviewed (post Griffin 2) and he, and interviewer, berated Nunn's scalp as being worthless.

In the late 90s and early 00s most boxing pundits and websites had caught on to what Roy was about. Routine defences for easy money was what he did. If you followed the sport then you would know. Or better still, go do some searching of Jones' early 00 fight reports and you will see it for yourself.

 

Another thing to note is that Jones was not in alot of Vegas superfights. Take it as you want but that signifies lack of named competition. He fought mostly at home in the SE, which for a fighter of that caliber is a bit strange.

I've been watching boxing since the rise of Mike Tyson and Ray Leonard's second coming in 1987.

I watched Jones come through the Olympics, and the first time I seen him fight was against Richie Woodhall.

Roy ****ed up and fought a lot of stiffs and I'm not knocking that opinion but he was a GREAT FIGHTER and performed at a skill level that was other worldly.

We can sit on a forum and discuss that until doomsday but that is how he will be remembered!
