nope, but if I had of scored round 1 10-8 then yes prescott would won by my score card, however I scored it 10-9.

I reckon I'll watch this whole fight over and score it again with no sound. Incidentally the round I changed my opinion on was round 9.

where does this leave mccloskey - if he struggles to beat an average journeyman like prescott, does mccloskey "deserve" another crack at a title?

Prescott is not an "average journeyman". That is quite simply an idiotic statement.

The guy was rated above McCloskey in the WBA rankings and only lost two of his 26 fights including a KO win over you know who!

come on. he's crap. he got schooled by mitchell. he's only famous for his hail mary's against a weight drained khan.

i had it 114-113 to mccloskey. Gave McCloskey rounds 3&4 and the last 5. Watched it in a noisey pub with no sound, so will watch it again later. Entertaining scrap.

it says a lot when all the irish lads have it a draw or mccloskey by 1 point.

definatley not a robbery, but certainly not a mccloskey win.

at least we hopefully won't have to listen to prescotts ridiculous statements about khan anymore. that ship has hopefully sailed.

It was close and I would not have given 10/8 for the knock down.I think the ref made a mistake giving a count.I still gave it to Prescott but only by a round. With the 10/8 it would have been 2.
I think both guys fought well but Prescott did the more telling work and I think he either blocked or moved away from a lot of the punches thrown at him.The highlights sky showed at the end were pretty much all Prescott.I think he deserved to get it.The fight was good to watch and everyone in the club enjoyed it which is good for the sport.

He's 5 foot 11 inches tall and was understandably struggling to make 135lbs when he fought Mitchell but full credit to Mitchell for out boxing him. He hasn't fought at 135lb since.

It's ridicolous to suggest he's an "average journeyman". He lost a split decision to Vazquez and had him down in the first round and he destroyed a fighter tipped to be pound for pound king in 54 seconds

Calling Prescott average is incorrect in my opinion. His downfall is that he has pretty awful stamina. He dominated most of the first 7 rounds last night and he looked very good in the early parts of the Mitchell and Vasquez fights. Obviously we all know what happened against Khan as well. However unless he can sort out the stamina problems he's never going to be a world class fighter. He was doing a good job on Dudey last night until he gassed.

How could you have McCloskey winning that round? There was little in it but Prescott had landed more frequently and with better shots. Add the KD and it's a 10-8 round.

Did you watch that fight? That fight should not have been split decision at all. He got schooled in that fight. It was actually Vazquez that exposed him and gave the blueprint for Mitchell to follow.

But Cotto still lost the round because he'd been knocked down. Because he'd been clearly winning the round until that point, it was appropriate to give it as a 10-9 round.

It's subjective, but judges can't just start ignoring the ref's calls because they disagree with them.
