Likewise. Floyd can slip as well as block and roll. Shane wasn't just hitting elbows and shoulders last night, he was also hitting air. I look at Benitez's performance against Duran and can't fathom how anyone can come to the conclusion his defense is as good as Mayweather's......especially when it comes to variety.
Indeed you did. Great feints, wonderful combination's, and can work on the inside off the ropes expertly well for a 19 year old.
What I can't fathom is your reasoning right now. Using his performance against Duran to somehow demean his defensive skills? We're on different wavelengths, apparently.
Yeah, of course, it's just nice to see a young fighter and be forced into being a fan immediately. My mate told me about him some time ago and all i'd ssen up until last night were youtube highlights, can't wait to follow his career now.
What has Collazo done to be thought so high of? Sorry, I don´t think Collazo is better than Mailgnaggi. Malignaggi is ordinary but Collazo even more so. Oh, he get´s credit for me. But that win doesn´t mean as much as Pac´s over Cotto for example. That´s for sure!
To be fair i haven't been high on Mosley for a long long time. But i'm not taking it to that extent, or at least didn't mean to come across like that.
Even against Mayorga and Cotto, Mosley wasn't getting gassed after two rounds of fighting, so I think this might have been his poorest ever display. People have mentioned anxiety, the occasion getting to Mosley, but I think what holds more weight is that he's a 38 year old veteran who hasn't fought in over a year.
You were pretty clear beforehand, I read your posts. I just think that Mayweather got chistled out a little bit on the forum. Do you see my point when I say that everyone expected McLarning to beat up Mendel, but everyone still rushes to list him as a good win for Jimmy (Rightly)? If you don't like thatexample, pick another one. This idea people have where they think more credit goes to a fighter if they were wrong in their pick...is odd, I think. Everyone is saying that because they expected this it is not a cracking win. The two don't jive IMO. I say that when we are looking back in twenty years that win and performance will be much admired.
Ah no, i meant to say Kostya in his prime was a very good fighter indeed, clearly better than the others for overall talent and ccomplishments, though i'm not the biggest fan of him.i actually think he's a fighter who regressed from his amatuer skillset. He had the potential to be someoe like kAlule but with big power, instead we got a flat footed guy who fell in love with that power and based his whole style on it.Those cleverl angles and slipping/countering were sadly never developed. But that is for another thread.
I think he's a world class boxer that has yet to face a real challenge. I'd love to see someone challenge him because every fight he's had recently there's some doubt about the caliber of his opposition. Mosley is too old, Marquez too small, Hatton never had it (but looked like he did all the way up to the fight), De La Hoya too old, Zab past his best, Gatti was past it as well. Baldomir feels like the most legit guy he took on in the past, and I don't mean that in that Baldomir is worthy of PBF I mean that the fight with Baldomir was necessary. Look at it this way, if you're gonna make claims of (GOAT) you better start taking on any man in your path. If not, then you don't have what you claimed to have now do ya?
