Only seen the fight once live on tv. I had Clottey up by one round at the end of round 10 but he did nothing in the last two rounds and I thought Cotto stole the fight. Clottey had the fight for the taking but handed it to Cotto by being completely inactive the last two rounds.
Had them just about even but with Cottos KD in the first making the difference. IMO, Cotto edged out that fight deservingly.
I don't remeber my exact score but it was one point for clottey. so cotto win isn't a robbery or anything
114-113 Cotto it was close, not a robbery. I thought that Miguel deserves it after end. He scored KD and fought like a champion after nasty cut. He wanted to continue even that if it was stopped he would be a instant winner. Guts.
I remember watching this fight on TV while on holiday in Bali. What a great day pool, nasi goreng, cheap cocktails and an entertaining boxing fight. To answer the question, I had Clottey by one point. No arguments with Cotto winning though as it was a close fight. I think anybody who thinks this is a robbery (or a clear cut victory) for either fighter is biased to one of them and unable to objectively review the fight.
I only watched the fight that one time. I had Cotto narrowly escaping by 2 points I think (may have been 1). He was there for the taking, but Clottey let him off the hook in those championship rounds. I believe the nasty cut above Cotto's eye, played a massive role in making the fight so close.
