he would **** froch !! collins was a tough ******* with good skills and boxing brain , he is from just around the corner from were im living now and is a sound bloke , met his brother roddy the other day who is a bit of a ****
britsh bias towards calslappy imo , why would collins be afraid of an unknown (at the time ) youngster who didnt punch half as hard as eubank or benn , seriously calzaghe was a noone back then and collins was a world champion who feared nobaody the chap was hard as nails ffs
then explain why you think collins would have been afraid to fight an younknown youngster at the time who hadnt done **** all in the game to prove himself or why do you think collins would have turned down a carear high pay day and test himself against the very best of his generation in jones jr ?? because he was afraid you say ?? cop on mate your talking bollox
i don't think collins was afraid of calzaghe ,perhaps it was a case of one boxer coming to the end of a long hard career not wanting to take a very hard fight for a minimal pay-day
you say because he was afriad when in reality why the **** would collins be afraid when he already fought much better and harder men than calzaghe , he fainted during training for his last fight and was told to retire by doctors after a long and very hard carear
I'm on about the jones bit you tit. The guy came in at the very end from my memory. Where was he when toney and co. were at the top?
I would say defintley man beat Benn and Eubank twice each .Hard to say how he'd do in this era or how he'd do against a prime Calzaghe but i'd defintly say arguable Collins would beat him .Maybe not on some peoples point of view but the 4 wins against Benn and Eubank man .Eubank's arguabley Calzaghes best win and Collins done it first twice so arguable the best supermiddleweight ever.
Collins wasnt scared of Calzaghe he had a brain scan a few weeks before the fight because he collapsed during sparring and was advised never to fight again.
Tough, durable fighter, used what he had effectively, had a successful career. Definately caught Eubank and especially Benn at the right time, could'nt see him beating them a few years earlier. Definately not HOF, but a good fighter.
