Definitely. One and two are clearly above everyone else. Norris is the best of the rest and then there are about four or five guys who could fight it out for the last two spots imo.

Hearns was only there for 4 title fights and 6 fights total from 81-84. And it really wasn't Duran's weight.

McCallum is first b/c he beat Jackson and Jackson beat Norris

I do think with Norris' vast improvement, he would have eventually overtaken McCallum and Jackson, the way he mastered Mugabi, Taylor and Leonard

Somehow beating 2 greats and Benitez at the weight to me makes him the solid favorite. Jackson was early on and Mike beat Donald when Donald moved up and was not yet recovered from the Honeyghan fight. Hearns is the favotie here. Norris? With a chin like that and the Simon Brown fight, he cannot be he top.

Hearns shouldn’t be the top guy.
I’ve got Mayweather over Canelo ahead of Hearns beating Benitez, and going 2-0 against Cotto and Oscar is at least as good as beating a past it, overweight Duran, but nobody is even mentioning Mayweather except me.

Anyway, Hearns is the most overrated guy in this thread on 154 resume.

Duran is great when he beat Moore and not great when he loses to Hearns. It cannot be selective like that. He had won the title against Davey a year before and had given Hagler a decent fight. He was top notch and Hearns had a lot to do with what happened in that fight with Duran.. And the Benitez fight, beating Wilfred after Wilfred beat Duran easily and had some good wins at the weight like Santos was another win against a great. To me that is better than Floyd's wins, and Cotto was never in the class of Duran and Benitez.

This donut has Canelo top 5, based upon him losing nearly every round to Floyd, and for barely beating Lara and Trout.

Duran at 154 should be regarded about like Fernando Vargas. His greatness was conspicuously dependent on his opposition.

Oscar against Duran could’ve gone either way since neither was consistent at 154. But beating Oscar and Cotto is a different task than beating either individually. Cotto obv wasn’t a slouch and would go on to be 160 lineal.

Never can Duran be like Vargas. Vargas would not have given Hagler that kind of technical fight. Duran had trouble with speed, but Hearns was the problem and not Duran on that night.

    Cotto beat a shot Martinez.

    He was an opportunist.

Duran went on to beat Barkley at 36.

You only see what you want to see.

Destroyed a past prime but reigning lineal Martinez and former titlist Geale. Not bad at all.

Wasn't there something seriously wrong with Martinez's knee aswell vs Cotto ? Didn't he have surgery on it ? As I remember his knee wobbled anytime he was hit by Cotto, Martinez was completely done at that point. I don't think many people took much stock in that fight.

    You’re such a fool.

    Martinez was done.

    Murray was robbed against him.

    Geale?

You rate those wins, but not Duran’s, over a win over him??

You’re still yet to tell us why Canelo should be top 5.

    Martinez was done.

    Martin Murray beat him.
