Algeria was ruled as part of France itself. Many French settlers (colons) migrated to Algeria. Does that make them not French? For example Marcel Cerdan was born in Algeria. Try telling a French boxing fan or historian Cerdan wasn't French. Okay, the history lesson is not over and you got quite a few people to include. - Mendoza This content is protected This content is protected I never said it was part of Europe. DUH. This is your problem when your clock cleaned. You say something else that has nothing to do with what the other person said in a lame effort to correct yourself. Cerdan is French, and you left him off you list. Now all you need to do is talk about a book referring to Cerdan that he's not in. Comedy hour never ends here. - Mendoza
Well, to get back to the point. Of course this can probably be pulled to bits. 1.Fitzsimmons 2.Turpin 3.Thil 4.Benvenuti 5.Villemain 6.Benn 7.Dauthille 8.Harvey 9.McAvoy 10.Eubank
How is fitzsimmons a euro fighter? He grew up in New Zealand where he learnt to box and turned pro in Australia and was a US Citizen when he had his biggest fights. I think all his career fights were either in Australia or the states. Don’t think he has one fight in England or Europe.
He qualifies on the basis of having been BORN IN EUROPE,ie England. Exactly how ****ing thick are you?????
For fighters to be eligible for this ,they must be; 1Middleweights 2.Born in Europe Is that so very hard for you and Rasta Ghooly to understand? Perhaps we should add a Junior section here for you less, shall we say ,"cognizant posters"?
He mentioned it in his thread opener, boxers born in Europe only. Geographically Siberia is in Asia, it can't be in a different continent politically, it is in Russia which is in two different continents Europe and Asia. Russia might have their political centre in Europe, but most of the country including Siberia is still in Asia. like Israeli teams, teams from siberia might play in the european champions league in football , but that is uefa rules and nothing to do with real physical geography. Gibraltar is in Europe.
But an OP has the right to set the criteria for their thread and the OP stipulated BORN IN EUROPE. If you don’t like it stay out of the thread. All you contribute is buffoonery.
Is that^ really so? Because, it seemed to matter to you here... And, related to the above, here... The related threads below... https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/great-champions-with-awful-jabs.618690/page-2#post-19525158 https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...-vitali-klitschko.618713/page-8#post-19529933 Clearly, this^ is not the case. You have merely singled out this thread, as a merchant of double standards, to suit your own agenda (and I am now sure your agenda has little to do with boxing), which in itself carries a certain irony since you regularly accuse people of the same.
Born in England to Irish migrants (not 100% about mother), moved to New Zealand when 10 years old. Introduced to boxing by his Irish father, thought in the school of boxing by English Jem Mace and New Zealander Herbert Slade. Began boxing in New Zealand, might have had his first pro fight in Australia, boxing records are sketchy from this period at best. A lot of boxers travel to different countries to ply their trade, only a handful you can make a living in as a pro and no different 100 years ago, most Irish go to England or USA. Either which way you look at it Fitzsimmons was born on the continent of Europe, nothing to do with nationality or where he or other people considered where he is from.
The criteria for qualifying here was clearly set out in the original post as in ".Only those born in Europe please." If you and you side kick Rasta Gooly are too thick to comprehend that ,and just want to **** up yet another thread with your idiocy please choose one of your own to do so in!
