'Cute' is the perfect description of Al Hamidi. You know, he took the Murray fight on the afternoon of the fight (the late afternoon) and yet gave a performance like that, although Murray won the fight from ringside (for me).
I was chatting with Joe Gallagher before the fight and Al Hamidi's use of the head obviously entered the discussion. Joe told me he was going to jump on the referee before the first bell and did just that, marching up to the hopeless Terry O'Connor and asking him to watch for Al Hamidi's head. Within one or two frames, Murray was bleeding badly from a place (high on the scalp) that was obviously caused by a butt.
Incidentally, Al Hamidi was really rocked in the eighth and last round but shrugged it off quickly, like the tough, clever, cute pro that he is.
