    Tyson/Spoon would have been a great matchup

    Unfortunately, Witherspoon was sent to the wilderness after he split with King.

    Tyson beat Witherspoon's conqueror James Smith, but an in shape, focused Witherspoons would have been much tougher for Tyson to beat than Smith.

    Tyson didn't duck him. He beat the guy who beat him.

    Sorry, Povetkin is probably the second best guy out there based on resume, but thats because he hasnt encountered Fury, Wilder and Joshua yet.

    Povetkin is good, but nothing special, he is primarily a brawler which would fight right into Tysons hands.

    Nearly all the guys who decided to stand toe to toe with Tyson, or stood in Tysons firing range, got sparked sooner or later.

    You're right, but he also got splattered like a bug by Lionel Butler in that time frame too.
    Maybe Butler deserves a similar level of credit as Tyson gets for KOing Tubbs.

    1992 and 1988 actually.

    Because that's the exact time frame where Tubbs was getting good results against Bowe, Seldon, Ferguson and Zolkin, that everyone keeps mentioning.

    Well, it's the Tyson boosters here who are bringing up what Tubbs did in 1989-'93. As soon as I mention that he was also stopped by Butler in that timeframe, the whole argument gets reversed ?? :lol:

    We could talk about Tubbs's recent form leading up to the Tyson fight. Wins over Mike Jameson (who knocked him down), Wimpy Halstead and Eddie Gonzales didn't impress anyone.
