Zavec vs. Martinez, last round

    i read on fightnews that it was a terrible stoppage...it wasn't TERRIBLE, but it also wasn't a good one. hm, zavec really had him ready to go several times and martinez seemed on spaghetti legs in the last round. thanks for the link!

    Well I have to admit this was the most intersting rund. I'm not sure calling a TKO was necessary.

    Zavec was quite passive in the middle of the match. The event was broadcast on Slovenian national televison, lots of commercials. One wonders if Zavec didn't deliberatly let it drag on till the last seconds.

    Looked to me like Martinez was totally spent, had no legs under him , and nothing on his punches. At the point the fight was stopped , Martinez had sagged and turned his back on Zavec. Having not seen the previous 11 rounds , I can't say if Martinez should have gotten a chance to finish for sure, but if he was behind anyway, and had taken punishment throughout, getting hit again wasn't going to do him any favors.
