Haven’t watched him for years but that was basically my opinion of him and I certainly wasn’t surprised Dickens beat him.

What's wins suggest his above domestic level. Bearing in mind they turned down English and british title shots aginst cacace sharp and bowen. Gill gifted European chance. Barrett got a gift against lad 2 divisions below in kiko.

Fair point about Kiko and those 118-111 cards were a disgrace. Cacace, Sharp and Bowen would have beat him easily too. Gill and Woodstock probably his best wins even Gill was a cherry pick.

Totally agree. You don’t keep getting a spot on televised cards unless you can fight and entertain. Zelfa does that for me.

It's Irrelevant what his record is. The post is about barrett. Pls answer the following
    Best win???
    Best performance???
How many pull outs at English and British title ordered by the board???
No reason why bowen sharp cacace fights couldn't b made as all under the same promoter at the time. Barrett record is very deceiving

I haven’t seen all Zelfas fights so can’t really comment. The ones I have watched have all been fan friendly and entertaining. As for the reasoning behind pull outs etc, I don’t know the answers. If you do, enlighten us. He wouldn’t be the first fighter to navigate choppy waters with less risk of sinking. There may be other reasons that nobody except Zelfa and his team knows.
What i do know is that I enjoy watching Zelfa box and think he’s a cracking boxer. He’s entertaining and tough with a nice style. There’s a reason they put him on tv shows.

U dont need see all.his fights. Just look thru his record on boxrec. The Pull outs were cause they were 50 50 fights. I don't know his ticket sales but if his got a decent following that cud explain tv shows and carefully matched fights live on tv

Loved seeing the sometimes troubled Ronnie Clarke beating him, was a really good scrap that.

I've always considered him to come across as lazy in ring

Does enough to get by and no more

Been around ages now and it's been an odd career so far
I've no idea what he was or is aiming for

Yeah he has always overrated himself. It was laughable to hear his delusions. Last week he was saying he will have ''underachieved if he never wins a world title''. Nah mate that would have been a massive overachievement!.

He also used to talk about his discipline like getting up early for runs and cutting out distractions and he said ''No one else is doing that''
Lol doesn't he realise almost all boxers of any decent level have that level of discipline.

oh yeah I remember him being petrified of Sam Bowen. Bowen and Cacace would have both given him a bad beating, both all wrong for him. Shame that Bowen retired prematurely (still never found out why) he was a real quality fighter.

Their was thread on here about him. I think I saw a post off Carl greaves( manager) on twitter saying he retired due to frustration at not getting fights on the back of covid

Aye like when Boxercise thought studying footage of his fighter's opponents singled him out from other trainers who would definitely never have the foresight to do that...
