Zhang was so inactive he shot himself in the foot, but it must be said that a lot of the time it looked like Parker was hitting gloves and forearms.
Shockingly poor 12 rounder with another one in the pipeline, ye gods! A change of nickname desperately needed from Big Bang to Z Listed, being more appropriate, following a lamentable performance from a so, disappointing Zhang.
Nah. Zhang completely stopped throwing from the hald way point. Strange. He didnt look hurt at all, his arms were just heavy i bet.
Look, let's be honest. Yes, Big Bang is 40 y/o. Yes, fighters do get old overnight around that age. Yes, coming in at 291lbs was ill-advised. But Big Bang was 40 y/o when he scored his most impressive win and let's not forget he did drop J-Park x 2 and the rematch is no formality, especially if he can let his hands go more. J-Park won fair and square and he has arguably beaten the two biggest punchers in the division and the #2 and #3 ranked HWs respectively in his last two fights. Big Bang simply did not do enough and I don't think age was the issue.
Ummmm.... How is it that this thread is still alive.... ? Is there anyone at this point (other than maybe the thread starter) even attempting to argue the headline of this thread...?
Let's be honest - he's already old, he's already slow and lacking in the stamina department... And coming in at 291 helped neither of these things. Yes, and he was already on the slow side then - and the fight didn't last enough to challenge his gas tank. Besides, he was up against glacial Joe Joyce - he didn't need to be fast... And he didn't have to work too hard to start landing, because Joyce has very limited defensive skills. That's not to say it's not a good win - but at the same time, Joyce was a good choice of matchup for him. Definitely - Zhang has serious power and that means it's never a formality. If Parker takes it seriously and learns his lessons from the fight then he should really find it easier second time around... But that doesn't mean he will.
He is and it didn't but he looked even better when even older in the rematch against Big Joe Joyce than he did in the first fight and I favoured him to beat J-Park. It was dumb to come in that heavy, especially when facing a much smaller opponent whose greatest asset against him was speed and movement Sure Big Joe was a much better stylistic match up for him than J-Park but he really can't blame anyone but himself for not letting his hands go more. J-Park had something to do with that but his output was very low, much lower than it was against Hrgovic. Sure he gassed in that fight but Hrgovic's toughness enabled him to take his bombs for all 12 rounds against a higher output Big Bang and make him gas when few others would've been able to do so. I think we'll find out the answers to these questions in the rematch, if Big Bang is able to up his work rate because his output was as low as I've ever seen it in the first fight and when you're the size he is and you can punch like he can you're always a clean punch or two away from ending the fight if you can land with your bombs. Either way, J-Park was a clear winner for me and deserves full credit for the win.
