But other big heavyweights don't try to get inside which is why when Wlad fought other big men he never really clinched. He really only did it to smaller fighters that wanted to get inside. So a jab clincher would most definitely do well in this era in fact Fury is the closest things we have to that type of fighter as he's the only tall heavyweight right now that actually knows how to clinch and use his size up close. In regards to which was the better era? Not much difference in my opinion, both era's had 2 stand out heavies that were head a shoulders above the rest. But this era is more exciting as the fighters are just more interesting and exciting to watch, the Klits were just to dominant and lacked personality.
Lacked personality because English is their 4th or 5th language. **** personality. I don't give a damn about them outside of the 36 minutes or less in the ring. Wrasslin is about personality.
Rose tinted american centric narrow mindedness this type of stuff.. Joyce isnt very good hes just big & durable.. Zhang however is decent, he just turned pro too late.. destroying foreman is something not many from ANY era could do but foreman himself was very sluggish & pondersome too anyway... he wasn't infallible.. stupid thread.. grow up & stop crying. I've seen worse than Zhang in ALL eras.
I thought it was bad news for Joyce when he came out with that twist on Tyson's quote; "Everybody has a plan until they hit me in the face and nothing happens." yeesh...
You’ve been here a while, yet you never expand your knowledge. What a waste of time for you. Still holding the same ignorant opinions. Of course Frazier could have competed. He’d have had mixed results, simply depending on who he fought. He’d have won fights and lost fights, depending on how he matched up on the night stylistically. Regarding Foreman, yes, both young and old versions of him lost. And?? Young and old versions of Wlad lost. Young and old versions of Lennox lost. So what? I can’t believe that you still hold the opinion that everything newer is better than everything of the past. You really are a terribly ignorant person.
Yes He came in light against the biggest, strongest and hardest hitting guy he's fought Abandoned his slickness which made no sense after coming in light And I'm sure I heard he'd been working with new S&C team for this fight too If it ain't broke, don't fix it
You and I may not care about personality but casuals do and Usyk has a ton of personality despite English not being his first language, didn't seem to stop Pac becoming a star either. Fact is you have to promote yourself in some way, either be exciting in the ring and if you can't do that you have to do something outside the ring to make people notice you or be lost in the pack.
Zhang has very fast, sneaky hands. It's why he's such a good counter puncher, and part of why his punches do so much damage. Perfect timing.
Zhang gets smacked by the current top heavyweights but his left is a prime example of a shot that isn't slow or telegraphed.
I'm on both sides I agree that George Foreman would knock out not just Joyce but most of today's heavyweights, I believe that 100% nevertheless I like Zhang , his aggressiveness , his style , he is my favorite current Heavyweight and Zhang is one of the few who would step into the ring against Foreman. Fury , Wilder or AJ would NEVER fight Foreman and would duck him.
