I believe that Eddie Machen appeared to have died to a fall from a second story apartment. he did sadly have mental issues prior to his death, when Floyd Patterson fought Eddie on July 5 1964, he said that he had Machen really hurt but backed off because he felt sympathy for Eddie's mental issues, spared him. Floyd won by unanimous decision.
It does beg the question though, why does he favor Williams over Folley? I do recall having major differences with klompton on Williams' abilities, rather than his accomplishments, which was catchwtboxing's main argument against Williams. However, catchwtboxing was saying that Johansson was a way better fighter than Williams. But in terms of accomplishments and skills, Folley was FAR more skilled and FAR more accomplished than Johansson, so it would be interesting to see who he thinks would win this fight btwn Williams and Folley.
Heck, he would be very popular with me, just because of what a great boxer he was. Then he must have been a great soldier, husband, father, and citizen to boot!
He did spell it out pretty clearly (and short) Will. There were multiple reasons - Bad matchup for Folley. Disadvantages in height and reach, a very VERY passive style and a weak chin would spell doom for him in this one.
