Now all collated in one place for ease of reference.

Consider this ESB's - pardon, BN24's - very own Library of Alexandria.

A decade of dominance. :D Alas, if @Arriba were still around he might have done a better and more consistent job, but I have done what has passed for my best, and have deputized others in my place when it came time for me to, like Atlas, shrug.

There have been long gaps between updates and even between threads, where I have been derelict in my duty, but my penchant for casting my torchlight upon boxers from every walk of life and up & down the spectrum has always been a pet-project which I've regarded as, while less remarked upon, more sacred (to me anyhow) than merely spitting out blurbs and scorecards for live fights. Kudos to @CST80 for also fighting the good fight, with his own separately indexed spin on the Files.

A series I did (and enjoyed) in 2013 and have long been meaning to re-revisit. Underappreciated donnybrooks from the vault. But for the interruptions of daily life, keeping these going on a weekly basis would be my dream of a full-time job.

Miscellaneous threads I have made on the art, science, culture and business of boxing. Some are strictly informative, some are more editorial, almost polemic in nature - the 'common thread' in my threads listed here is that I put some time into them and have been satisfied with the result, and in their contributing in a positive way to my fellow boxing fans' elucidation.

Going forward, this will be my only sticky thread in the General Boxing Forum. This ostensibly frees up @CST80 if you want to stick another of your threads (general agreement has always been that each mod is allowed one coetaneously) besides the Compendium, which is linked to here, and therefore might be somewhat redundant. Unless of course you'd rather keep it there or simply don't have another sticky-worthy thread in mind. Totally up to you.

I've been meaning to get around to making this very thread since before @CST80 even signed up here, incidentally - putting into stark perspective just what a horrendous procrastinator I am. :sisi1 :buitre:

Unlike you, I'm not that much of a procrastinator, I'll think about it for a little while, and probably figure it out by tomorrow. That's a long time for me.:D

There was another series of threads I'd planned on doing 5-6 years ago, but I only got as far as emailing myself a sketchy outline and never managed to pull it all together. I found the notes when compiling all the content I had always intended to be in here. If there's any interest maybe I'll give this a go, at last.

The series would've been called "Had It Happened As Planned", about fights that were in fact signed (or at least in negotiations) but fell apart, to end up never coming to fruition. Speculation on how they would have played out, how it affects each participant's career going forward on that alternate timeline, etc. These were my ideas to start off with...

    HIHAP candidates:

    Leonard vs. Pryor, 1983

    Ward vs. Mamby, 1988

    Ibeabuchi vs. Grant, 1999

    Mayorga vs. Rivera, 2004

    Guzman vs. Arthur, 2008

    Bradley vs. Castillo, 2008

    Golota vs. Peter, 2007

I'm only like this when I get ambitious, biting off more than can be chewed in a hurry (and then working it down like a Wonka gobstopper for a ridiculously long time)...I have that Kurosawa perfectionist bent.

Same here, sometimes I go back, reread and whittle and edit my articles for hours after I post them, hell I did that with my post on GOT yesterday. To say I'm obsessive, painfully so at times, would be an understatement.

...or just maybe go **** myself, alright then. o_O

Probably best I skip going through all the bother only to have it completely ignored (as evidenced by the low-level reactions to some of my objectively greatest and most labor-intensive threads above); on here if something has a title like "zomg tmz sez maywether used too much fluids again but got another tue; mcgregor threatening rematch off unless in octagon!" or "shannon briggs said 'let's go champ' for the five hundredth time, but in a new setting (the bathtub!) so it's still fresh & funny!" or "adrien broner toilet selfie wearing nothing but a baby huey bonnet awww precious" - guaranteed hundred pages, but worthwhile and thoughtful content just doesn't jive with the masses' collective muscoidean attention span. Folks have reminded me time after time over the years that I was casting pearls before swine, but...somehow I still have managed to feel guilty about not finishing projects like the one above, that nobody even knew existed outside my head. :pipi Ridiculous.

I'd be down for a Ward vs Mamby thread for sure...but I dunno how much play it gets here or in Classic at present.

It has taken me the better part of the month of May; the bulk of which consisted of fixing the dead links in my RBR Archives and Fighter Files (the oldest of which were still directing to "eastsideboxing.com/forum" in their URL) and then sifting through hundreds of pages to get them up to date. I started around Cinco weekend.

Interesting that you keyed right in on Ward vs. Mamby off that list, @Drew101 - as that abandoned encounter was actually the germ of inspiration for the whole lot. I remember exactly when I got the idea, too... after seeing The Fighter in theaters.

Zxcvbnm was a good poster. a bit eccentric but he dug further into the HW division than just about anyone and bandwagoned obscure guys before almost anyone knew about them. Big appreciator of the gritty Matt Skelton too.

Yeah but singularly hung up on Malik Scott of all people for some reason.

Nearly as weird-yet-strangely-laudable as @moparfan's blindly chauvinistic loyalty to (and undying belief in) Kingpin Johnson.

There was like an epidemic of being obsessed with feather-fisted heavyweight fringe contenders at one point. :risas3:

Tell you what - I'm not particularly motivated to undertake all those proposed HIHAP threads on my own just to have them fall by the wayside (especially after staring all these reminders of my vain labors in the face) - but if others agree to pitch in and do a few after I've made the first couple (say, the SRL vs. Pryor and Ward vs. Mamby fights) to set tone & establish the format, then I'd be willing to go that route, as sort of more a collaborative process where I'm not the only person investing my time and energy.

Any volunteers? @Russell, this seems like it might be up your alley.

Everyone is welcome to choose from my original list of ideas, or expand upon it. The only criterion is that it has to have been a fight that was going to happen, but was snatched away from us. I guess you could technically count, say, Golovkin vs. Pirog even though it never went as far as negotiations or purse-bids, just a handshake deal in spring of 2012 for a meeting on HBO come August 25th provided they both successfully defended their middleweight titles against their respective Japanese challengers, Fuchigami and Ishida.

Paul Williams vs. Canelo is another interesting one the boxing gods/cruel universe we live in yanked the carpet out from underneath the feet of, that I always thought would be fun to inspect more closely.
