How many years has it been since Joshua defeated a top 10 opponent?

You can criticise Wallin as much as you want but it won't change the fact that he was in the top 10 when AJ fought him.

 

Interesting logic.

If you can't class Wallin as a top ten fighter, despite having been on the lists... Can you honestly class Ortiz as one when he hadn't even beaten a gatekeeper in 3 years by the time of his first Wilder fight? (Especially when that gatekeeper, Jennings, was his best win).

And if Ortiz wasn't (which if we're honest, he probably wasn't - top 15-20 maybe, but not top ten at 38+ yo) then was Wilder? Because that's his best win by miles.

Fury would still have Whyte as a lower top ten... But that's about it.


You can make arguments in several directions - there's simply no questioning that Wilder's resume is a million miles from Fury's and Joshua's.

 

Not by you, but by others

 

He was top 5 but definitely not any more. Parker, Fury and Zhang all above him for sure plus quite a few others

 

The bottom half of the top ten at heavy is a mess and its been like that for a while

 

As a followup, as far as I can tell, Ring had Wallin at 10 in Oct 2023 where I presume (though its difficult to see their archives unless I'm missing something) he was when he fought Joshua.

 

I agree that Parker is more worthy of a title shot, and honestly I'd rather see him fight Usyk should Usyk beat Fury again, rather than AJ 3. Let AJ and Fury duke it out in what would be a huge fight anyway.

Wallin was #10 od the Ring when Joshua beat him.

Dubois is #6, and is likely getting stopped.

 

I swear some of these threads of late must be started by the mods trying to cause outrage to increase traffic on the forum. There are just too many deranged threads like this
