How many years has it been since Joshua defeated a top 10 opponent?

Imagine being outraged by the fact that Joshua hasn't beaten a solid top 10 opponent in 6 years.

How Wallin was a top 10 is beyond me. His highlight in the sport is cutting Fury's eye in a fight he ultimately lost.

His best win is gassiev who did nothing at heavyweight no way in hell should he ever have been top 10

Wallin was top ten at the time, so I'll give him credit for that fight. Not so much the other 3.

    That's cool, but

    • The journalistic class gave him a top 10 ranking with The Ring and TBRB (even being as high as #4).
    • For the orgs he had a top 10 ranking with WBC and IBF
    • If you want a media ranking, ESPN had him at #10
    • Looking to fan concensus, even the Boxrec Forum rankings had him #9. Which tells me the average (I'll say interested) fans recognized him as such.

Now you could say the everything from about #7 down is pony and much or a muchness, but that is a different thing all together.

Wallin was the definition of top 10. To argue against it is a minority position and personal belief. Which is cool...that's what forums are for

But going off the OP, this isn't really a discussion about the merits of Wallin. It's a grown man in his feeling over Joshua, again, again. It's deranged spam basically

He didn't beat any top 10 or even any notable gatekeeper level, they ranked him to rank him, he didn't deserve it that's why I don't rate Wallin.

I don't even rate dubois and I expect him to go on a loss streak after he loses to joshua but he beat Hrgovic at least

The Thread starter getting bashed for hating on Aj, but it's OK to hate on Fury 24/7 among others?

You guys need to get a grip. I know you are all Aj fanboys on this forum, but some of what he says is true and he's entitled to his opinion like anyone else on here

Parker has had the better recent wins but it wasnt all that long ago that he got completely battered and stopped by Joyce, and he also lost to AJ head to head.

When it comes to that TBRB rating, I kind of agree with you: #5 is waaaay too high for me. He first entered TBRB rankings after his wide decision win over Breazeale, but really? That's Breazeale... That argument can go either way for me. I think TBRB also did it to validate having Fury as champion, so the competitive loss and cut probably played into that.

Probably, the above in combination with the Fury fight made him a difficult proposition as risk-reward goes. Then throw in Whyte swerving a fight, played a part in Wallin not getting opportunities. End of 2022, I think it is fair that fans wanted to see more before declaring him top 10.

However, I think the manner of the win over Gassiev (on the road) pushed him into the low end of the top 10 for the majority. Both were about as active as each other. Pre-fight a sizeable majority picked Gassiev, too. That was a fight that would see the winner breaking into the top 10 for me. The winner just happened to be "fan favourite" Otto Wallin, who made easy work of it.

Gassiev is still young, though, so I guess we can get a better idea of the achievement in time. But that is a better win that most to get into the top 10. But let's look at it another way. The top 10 was made up of guys like Jared Anderson (looking shakey against C. Martin), Martin Bakole (dominant win over Yoka), and Frank Sanchez (win over Ajagba). I think the win over Gassiev is on par if not surpasses those. Wallin earnt his place.

He makes AJ hate threads all the time and asks the same bait questions all the time. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when someone keeps consistently making the same threads over and over.....its a bit weird.

It's nothing to do with him disliking Joshua he can dislike who he wants the issue is he keeps consistently making these type of threads.......

Hes asked this question a million other times in his other Joshua hate threads so tell me what other reason does he do this other than to troll ? Deliberately bait on purpose ? Or has a weird obsession with Joshua that he has to keep making these silly threads.

It's the same cult of 8 or so dedicated Joshua fans in every thread concerning Joshua, Fury, or Wilder. For some curious reason they will spend their days scouring this forum for an opportunity to boost a certain fighter and detract from all other fighters. Very strange behavior.

They have funny logic like insisting a 39 year old champion is worse than a "motivated" (they've decided among themselves that this is the case) 41 year old.

I haven't seen such a dedicated little core, who refuse to see logic, since Hatton & Calzaghe had their troop of diehard fanboys posting here.

But no one cares more than you. You've made more threads about Joshua than any Joshua fan on this site by a mile.

Why keep asking the same questions ? It's like groundhog day and tiresome infact its borderline trolling.

Fury fans are just as classless as Fury himself. Shocking. In other news, water is wet.

Instead of admitting how weak Fury's resume is and how overhyped he has always been, it's always about moving the goalposts ("but but he hurt Usyk") and trying to make others, Joshua in particular, look bad instead. Pathetic but expected.

Let the following facts sink in. Wilder has always been trash, any of the top 10 would have beaten him anytime. Beating him means nothing. Whyte is damaged goods since the Povetkin loss, beating him means nothing. Fury still has more kids than title fights and half of his title fights were fought against Wilder anyway. The Klitschko bout was almost a decade ago, it was an utterly s**t match and Klitschko would have won the rematch, that's why Fury ran away from him.

Fury's resume is trash, his legacy is trash, Joshua would stop him, Usyk stopped him and will stop him again. Cope.
