Joshua is not my favourite fighter you nimwit apparently the point flew completely over your head.

I'm pointing out your hypocrisy of accusing me of low quality threads or being a hater when you are the only one spamming the forum constantly with low quality threads making Joshua hate threads year in year out.

I completely agree that the offer to fight Fury was a great opportunity. But it wasn't instead of Wallin.

The Whyte v Wallin fight was headlining a PPV card scheduled for 30th October. The Fury fight didn't happen for close to six months later. The WBC announced the Fury v Whyte fight in December that same year and it went to purse bids the following January.

It's quite funny really because this quote from Whyte was published on October 19th by TalkSport:
"I could pull out of the Wallin fight just to fight Fury but that isn't my mindset. I can't wait around for what Fury is doing."
Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin live stream: Pay-per-view details, start time, TV channel and how to watch Halloween heavyweight showdown | talkSPORT
Whyte pulled out of the Wallin fight the very next day

btw, I don't particularly feel all that much sympathy for Wallin, as he had previously pulled out injured from a fight with Lucas Browne and didn't reschedule, and Dillian had been kept waiting years by the WBC. Even so, given the above circumstance it's still very much a duck from Whyte. Whyte could have beaten Wallin then fought Fury. He chose not to risk it.

Big Otto is the least threatening gatekeeper I've ever seen. Calling it a "duck" doesn't make sense even with the context because Fury beat Wallin

I know Fury beat Wallin. The thing with that is Wallin was easily one of Fury's toughest opponents of his career. Wallin somehow managed to outland both Wilder and Klitschko and cut Fury up very badly. Granted Fury still pulled away on the cards, but he certainly didn't have it his own way. Three months later Fury destroys Wilder and is declared an H2H ATG and clear #1 heavyweight in the division. Not much could change in three months from Wallin to Wilder when Fury was needing to care for that gash he had above his eye. So, it is understandable Whyte would not be fully confident in beating Wallin.

Whyte could have cleaned things up with Wallin after his Fury loss, but he chose Wallin's stablemate Franklin for his comeback fight.

It was a duck, my friend.

I can't disagree. And yet he was ultimately very competitive against Fury and ducked by Whyte. So, if Wallin is as bad as you claim, what does this tell us about the strength of Fury's resume? Which is what this thread is about after all.

This also has some minor consequences for the era. As we know Wallin made light work of Gassiev (the S.D. being based on a 111-117 card which might be one of the most ridiculous a-side specials I've ever seen). The same Gassiev who was Usyk's opponent for Undisputed at cruiserweight and has stopped the majority of his opponents at cruiserweight and heavy.

Basically, if Wallin is and always was as bad as some of you all think, and that he along with guys like Breazeale were (arguably) at one-time Top10 heavyweights, suggests this really was a terrible era. With Fury sitting on a really quite awful resume amongst it all.

Yeah, it's impossible to place Whyte any lower than #3 on Fury's resume, try as some people might.

    Wladmir
    Wilder
    Whyte
    Chisora
    Wallin

Whyte's best wins are Parker and Povektin, and he beat Chisora himself twice, so it's impossible for Chisora to push Whyte out the way even with his recent, decent wins over guys like Joyce. Wallin is a bit overrated and lost to Chisora, so the pecking order is quite clear. Wilder isn't being budged from #2 because he was a champion who defended his belt multiple times before losing to Fury.

Whether Whyte was prime or not doesn't really change much in the conversation and is simply damage control cope. Whyte is still Fury's 3rd best opponent based on resumes. Besides, Wladmir was past his prime and even older than Whyte was with more wear and tear, if people want to play the age game.

Neither of you are wrong here.

This gets back to a larger point of AJ fighting all the same guys as Fury and criticizing one on behalf of another just leads to going in a circle. That was the downside to Eddie Hearn literally targeting Fury opponents for AJ to do better against.
