I don't think it would be easy but think if he could stop Vitali and inflict injuries that needed 68stitches to close whilst over weight and unfocused ,A fitter leaner Lewis would have repeated his victory in a re- match with the added possibility that the cuts might re-open. Aww, you're cute. A complete brain dead moron like you calling me stupid. Your attempts to use big words literally left me loling. You keep saying "fact", but you really just mean meritless opinion. The "fact" is Manny Stewart can be heard in the fight repeatedly advising Lewis to lean on Vitali in the clinch because of his weight. Given Vitali's size and Stewart's focus on this tactic, it looks likely that Lewis's weight was planned for. If you are too stupid, and you are, to understand how added weight would matter more than speed in a battle of two giants, well, good bless you, you've already proven your imbecility time and again.
Oh look, it's the psycho hater who only comes out to troll on Vitali threads. He was about 5 pounds heavier than his normal weight at the time. Yes, it seems quite possible that Manny put him on a high cal diet and he gained a couple pounds in that time.
And I'm sure you're one of the genius's who say Ali is better than Frazier and Louis better than Schmeling. Of course, because they had an opportunity to rematch and prove it. Vitali did incomparably better than Ali and Louis in his initial matchup. He went on to have an atg career. Only a partisan imbecile would say that, at a minimum, Vitali would not have had a solid chance in a rematch. I can certainly admit Lewis would have had a solid chance against Vitali, though I would favor Vitali in the fight. Seriously, you people and your certainty of result is INSANE. Dunning Kruger effect. Off with you simpletons.
This is exactly it. It's insane that partisans come up with their mental gymnastics to try and claim Vitali was no threat. There was huge interest in a rematch, and non partisans can admit a controversial match is not ideal to go out on. But he preferred going out on a desultory win than taking the chance of losing. It was a reasonable and smart move. Just like Vitali bowing out with the shoulder injury against Byrd, he made the smart decision to preserve his career or legacy that didn't thrill some boxing fans. Regardless, he clearly wouldnt have made the decision to retire in that situation unless he had legitimate doubt that he could win. It's too bad some partisans are too clouded by blind hate of Vitali or love of Lewis to see something this obvious.
It must be nice living in your own little Universe. Wonder why Lewis didn't pursue that extra weight strategy against Michael Grant and Frank Bruno? Lewis 247lbs v Grant 250lbs . Lewis 229lbs v Bruno 238lbs . I say Ali is better than Frazier because he was imo he has a far better resume whereas Frazier lost 4 of his 5 biggest fights .Louis is obviously superior to Schmeling , he comfortably beat fighters who beat Max. Vitali had the opportunity to rematch Byrd but he didn't. He beat Purrity and Sanders for his brother to take them out of his way I'm not certain about the result I just think Lewis wins. can you read?
Living in your own universe? You would know, since you are entirely incapable of rational thought. Oh, and I'm glad you are changing your tune. All your previous posts made it quite clear you gave Vitali zero chance whatsoever.
Also, thanks for bringing up the weight points, it supports me further. He came in 5 pounds heavier than his last weight, about 5 pounds heavier than his normal weight for the time over the last 5 fights, when he fought Grant, who was indeed a legitimate shw. Lewis was fighting around 250 for the last few fights before Vit, and came in about 6 pounds higher against Vit. So your data supports the possibility his weight gain was intentional. Also, Bruno wasn't a shw. He was heavier, but Lewis was longer and could stay outside and didn't need the bulk.
what on earth does this mean? u think LL should have thrwon the fight to keep your toys in your pram?
i will say this at least vits had the guts to get in the ring with LL, unlike wladdie making no effort to pursue him. vits has the same bravery as ossie ocasio and Gary Mason, true stalwart hearts, although he wasnt good enough as them to last as long.
Vitali had 68 stitches in his face, inflicted by an overweight , unfocused champion .Lewis in shape stops him by tko again. mcvey, Tuesday at 12:21 AM Report #22 + Quote Reply JeremyCorbyn and JohnThomas1 like this. Lewis was beaten twice he avenged both fights with emphatic ko's.His resume sh*ts all over Vitali's! mcvey, Tuesday at 3:59 PM Edit Delete Report The only absurd one is you, since you can't recognize added weight has a benefit, not just a detriment, and that the extent to which that matters varies by matchup. Nope he was training to fight Ross Puritty on the same bill and actually started camp before Lewis who was originally scheduled to fight a totally different style fighter,Kirk Johnson. Never quit in a fight. Those are my posts, show me where I said Vitali has no chance whatever? It's official you cant read!
You make a good argument, in fact, the way you put it, it sounds like easy work for a Lewis with a focused, full camp. Easy work for a Lewis who said he would stick around for years, who wanted to fight not only Vitali but Tyson AND Wlad to boot. Instead of taking the easy work ... "Mah mummy says I can't" The mark of a true champion!
Nice of you to begin with an insult. "Psycho hater" really? Is it possibly he changed his diet and put on extra weight delberately over two weeks before meeting Vitali? Yeah, sure, but that's hardly going to be ideal and Lewis wouldn't have had any time to get used to the extra weight and condition himself to fight 12 rounds with it. All oberservers were agree at the time that Lewis's conditioning for the fight was terrible and he gassed early, so if it was a deliberate thing then it was bad a idea and it backfired.
